Speaker of the House for 118th US Congress

It appears that they were depending on a Democrat or two to miss the vote. LOL. Dream on.

Democrats must be loving this. To them this is a clear sign that there's a civil war within the GOP.

As usual, the Democrats are whipped into compliance. They are the Orwellian uniparty. No dissent is allowed. They can not win, yet not a single Democrat is willing to dissent and register a protest vote for someone other than the uniparty candidate.

Gaetz is doing something. What?
...TV guy says they want to keep the House in session.
Crenshaw bothering him... now Sheila Jackson Lee is talking to him?
...So Gaetz changed his vote?

That is the assumption. Plus the other holdouts are voting "present".

Why the f do we have to listen to Hakeem Jeffries give a speech about how great the Democrats are? What a joke. Spewing lies and propaganda.

I was hoping to see a caning before it was over. :(

Well, Mike Rodgers did appear to lunge at Matt Gaetz at one point and had to be dragged back.

It looks more like someone came over and clamped their hand over Rogers big mouth. Arguably, Rogers was the reason for an agreement not being arrived at earlier. He was the one that threatened everyone, and hardened the resistance. He is an idiot.

Why? One of two reasons, right off the top of my head:

(1) Hakeem Jeffries 2024, or
(2) Hakeem Jeffries 2028

Which one depends on the strength of Biden's handlers as a faction of the uniparty, and how well they can manage to cling to power.

On second thought, though, Jeffries isn't a senator or a governor, and those seem to be the preferred stock ponds for POTUS grooming, so maybe not. They may just be keeping him warm on the back burner for the next "historic" house speakership.

They got everything they asked for. I don't see why McCarthy had to be an ass and force 15 votes. All he did was make himself and the party appear weak.
