Spamming Debunked

Since they can't shut down the whole damn net. Makes sense to me!
 
I told you this. I told everything they would use any tactic they could to hurt us. The question is, do we have any defense against it. Something needs to be done. Can someone contact youtube about this. This must be illegal.
 
So let's start the timer on when this person will be discovered........
 
Maybe I'm paranoid but when I read things like this directed toward companies, Google in this case, I think to myself you have to follow the money. Google stock has risen a $100 dollars a share over the last month. Who is direct competition with Google and would like to see that stock go down and has the technology to cause Google some problems? Will Ron Paul's campaign really be hurt by this bad press not really. All this just puts Google on the defensive.
 
Yeah, plus if Ron Paul videos are pulled. Youtube and google will lose viewership-LOTS!!! They don't want that to happen.
 
It always boils down to cui bono, and it sure sure isn't the Ron Paul camp. I would think that anyone smart enough to send out sophisticated spam is certainly smart enough to know what kind of damage it would do to the campaign. This is not your garden-variety, "gee, I think I'll just spam everyone I know with a Ron Paul e-mail."

What can be done about this? I'm not talking tit for tat, because we don't know who's doing it. They did bust that Russian gang of spamsters not too long ago, but that was a years-long investigation. Anything having to do with tracking down spam (including some of those convoluted headers that you all dig up) is WAY above my pay grade. I'm not even using Linux--YET!

Can the really smart geeks weigh in on this?

Over the past week, I have cleaned out a LOT of trojan horses. Where are these coming from? I'm not going to any unusual places! For all I know, these trojan horses are part of the problem. All I know is that they get past my virus detection, my malware detection and my firewall, and I get rid of them the minute that they hit. I've read that some of them are coming from game sites, and I know that lots of people here play online games. The point is that it could even be us spreading this stuff without our knowledge.

I received this 'spam' email this morning to two different email addresses. One address (my main personal one) is the one I used when I donated to the campaign on-line. The other is the one I used to sign up for my local Meetup group. The email address that I generally use for on-line venues such as YouTube, MySpace and this forum did NOT receive the email.

Let's all play Sherlock Holmes, put our heads together, and see if we can find the common denominator in these. I can see the headlines now -- "Ron Paul Spammers identify REAL spammer"!!

Is there a source- email address, IP address?

Another question I have for those that received the email SPAM- what did you use to donate, VISA, Mastercard, or Paypal. We might find a pattern here.

It came in from Gmail in both instances:

I wish I could get more folks unpluged from that crap.
EVERY Trojan, Every Virus, Every compromised machine on the net is a threat to the whole web.
ALL these botnets are compromised Window$ machines.
That is the problem.

Sadly, I can't find a way to view the message headers in gmail and the one that was sent to my personal address, I have pulled at my home computer using Outlook so I can't get to it until this afternoon.

When I donated to the campaign, I used my Visa debit card a couple of times and my Visa CC once.

I also noted that they all had "Outlook Express" in common.
It could be that the security vulnerabilities in Outlook have been exploited.
