Anyone else find it odd that in the entire focus group - supposedly made up of South Carolina Republicans - only about two of them had even the faintest hint of a southern accent?

I know there are a ton of transplants, but they are not the majority (yet).

Are you familiar with the South? Everyone doesn't sound like Forrest Gump...

South Carolina people sound like yosemity sam... not to be rude! lol

I agree. If it was from Myrtle Beach I would of let it pass beacause there are transplants. But this was Charleston for goodness stake. I said the same thing to my wife.

I've never been to SC but I lived in WV briefly and I never met any locals that didn't have an accent.

Forrest Gump?
Where are you from?
It is no secret that people from certain states have very distinct accents. Especially if you are from around that area.
What does Forrest Gump have to do with anything?

They sounded like a bunch of former Southern Democrats who left that party when the African-Americans showed up.

That would have been fine. My point is that most of them didn't sound southern at ALL. That just didn't sit right with me. Not in Charleston.

If Frank Luntz put the group together then logically without picture ID to prove their residence, they could be from anywhere. They might not even really be American.

Hell, they might be computer animations. I mean, this is Luntz we're talking about.

EXACTLY, I thought the same thing.

Representin' Charlotte/Mooresville!!

I'm trying to get some of these Nascar guys to support RP.!

Yeah I'm from the South and I travel to Charleston a lot. People there have a very distinct accent. I didn't hear one person with a Charleston accent.
