South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem to Ban Critical Race Theory via Executive Order

The New American
April 6, 2022

This week, South Dakota Republican Governor Kristi Noem announced that she will sign an executive order banning Critical Race Theory (CRT) from being taught in grades K-12 in the state’s public schools. She made the announcement at a town hall meeting in Mobridge and shared the video of the announcement on social media, tweeting, “Critical Race Theory has no place in our South Dakota public education.”

Rule by executive order. So when we agree with it, it is okay, but if we disagree with the order. It is an overreach of a tyrannical government. Got it.

Actually, all tax-funded "public" government education institutions should be abolished altogether. But short of that ...

Yes.

Tax-funded "public"-school indoctrination of children into intersectional Marxism (via the curricular "praxis" of Critical Race Theory, Queer Theory, etc.) is a bad thing. A very bad thing. Noem's order should be extended to "public" colleges and universities, as well.

I agree that it's an overreach. None of this should be banned. What I think the education departments should do is establish a critical view of CRT with equal time. This way people can see both sides of the topic.

At the end of the day, I believe parents should be the first point of contact to educate their children.

Yeah, I think we give the education system too much credit. I can honestly say the last time I learned anything in school was 7th grade. That year I took a keyboarding class and learned to type. If CRT would have been taught at my school I would have learned nothing. All we ever did in school was "busy work." Honestly once you can write, read, and do super basic math school is a waste of time.
