Soundbites you'd like to hear tonight?

"It's encouraging to see my fellow candidates finally agree with me now that..."

Yeah, I really like this. He could kinda use his age and wisdom to his advantage.

"I'm glad the rest of the panel has finally embraced the wisdom I have been speaking about for the past 30 years."

>> "I have answered this question several times. (and proceed to talk about the economy)

+1000. These debates are not about answering the questions posed (especially the idiotic questions that RP usually gets) but about getting YOUR points across.

That being said, if I hear the term "Austrian economics" or "Austrian school" I'm throwing a brick through my TV.

something like...

"I am absolutely against drug use, however I am also against imprisoning persons who choose to use currently prohibited substances and have not caused harm to any other individual in doing so."

I've been misinterpreted on many issues; some people think I'd decriminalize drugs & prostitution in all states, some think I'd ban abortion & gay-marriage across the country but none of this is true. I'd like to leave these things to the states so if people in a state choose to decriminalize drugs then so be it, if people in a state choose to ban abortion then so be it; nobody can satisfy everyone at the same time but states rights allow us to satisfy maximum number of people at any given time, federal mandates don't.

yup.....He needs to palatable to the masses. Short and sweet.

"Our senior citizens haven't received a cost-of-living adjustment in their Social Security checks since 2008, because the government and the Federal Reserve want you to believe that prices haven't gone up. If you've gone to the grocery store, or the gas station, or turned the heat and air conditioning on in your house, you know darn well that prices have gone up, and it's the Federal Reserve that has made those prices go up through this so-called "quantitative easing".

"I think we've reached a point that we can finally admit that all the programs and stimuli and bureaucracies and entitlements that government has created over the years in an attempt to improve the economic conditions of this country have only served to ruin us. It's time we embraced liberty as our solution."

Some of us are old enough to remember back before 1980, when the Department of Education was formed. Now, if you think public schools were better then than they are now, why would you want that bureaucracy to continue? I'll get rid of the thing, and put you back in charge of your local school board.

The experiment failed. I'm the guy who will drop it and move on.

I've been misinterpreted on the issue of killing of Osama Bin Laden. It's not that I'm unhappy about his death but I'd've liked to have seen him in a US court, begging for mercy & would've liked to see him rot in jail for the rest of his life, repenting the crimes he committed on innocent Americans; so I'd argue that Obama gave him the easy way out with almost a painless, instantaneous death.

"I would first like to thank my wife for telling me that I needed to wear a suit that fits."

I'll actually miss Fred Thompson's one-liners like when he was pestering Mitt. So, I hope someone knocks Mitt down a little and reminds the public of his record.

Though, I suppose it's too early for cat fights in these debates.

There's a saying that was common back before we coined the phrase 'politically correct'. And if anyone thinks it's not 'politically correct', I apologize. That phrase is, 'Too many chiefs and not enough Indians'. And that's what we've got. We don't need Washington to tell our states and cities what to do. We need to be able to tell our state and city governments what to do.

Heh. Yeah, wouldn't it be nice if he came down off the moral high ground just for a minute or two?

'Mitt Romney has been right about everything. Half the time he was right before he changed his mind, and the other half of the time he was right after he changed his mind.'

'Mitt Romney has been right about everything. Half the time he was right before he changed his mind, and the other half of the time he was right after he changed his mind.'

A perfect answer to the "say something good about the other candidate" question.

Some people say socialism works pretty well in Europe. But the only country in Europe bigger than, say, California that ever tried it was the Soviet Union. And that didn't work out very well at all.

If they get into foreign policy...

"I can't believe we're here debating how to manage Iraq, or how to manage Afghanistan, or how to manage Libya or Syria... We should be saying that their affairs are none of our business! We have enough trouble trying to manage our own affairs!"

The Greatest Generation fought for our liberty and the Constitution which protects it. Every time we fight against our Constitution, we dishonor their sacrifice. Worse than that--we move toward a world where their sacrifices were made in vain.

I like this. A lot.

Whatever form it takes I would love to hear some succint, terse, soundbyte that puts to bed the heroin/legalization of drugs controversy.
