After the dirty tricks and blatant disrespect shown to Dr Paul and supporters, I don't see how Liberty-movement supporters can vote the GOP ticket. Mitt losing means nothing to me, as Romney and Obama are simply two sides of the same coin. Regardless of the silly "he's a socialist/communist/insert 'ist here" comments, I find Romney equally distasteful. So I guess I'm another that will be "wasting my vote" by voting for a Liberty candidate instead of settling for less. If that causes Romney to lose, my response is: Sorry, the Aye's have it!

I'm sort of hoping that Romney loses. The GOP has been picking some really bad candidates for the past several years. The Reagan, the Bush's, Dole, McCain and now Romney. They don't deserve to win anything. In fact, the republican party doesn't deserve any support from me.

No disrepect for RP, but trying to save the Republican party, might have been, at that time, his only real option. But that was then, and this is now.
I refuse to vote for the GOP now a days. If a Repubican "liberty minded" candidate were to run, and I know about him. I would vote for him. But I'm not going to go searching for them. Too many so-called "TeaParty" candidates broke me of that.

It doesn't bother me to not ever voting for a "winner" now a days. At least my conscious is clear and my principles are still in tact.

romney needs to barely lose so its the few votes the GOP said didn't matter will indeed have mattered.

I hear ya. My neighbor is being a dick because I won't vote for Romney. He thought it was okay when I supported Ron Paul in the primaries, but now he wants me to get on board or I'll help "destroy the country." Not voting for Romney is a vote for Obama, he says. He doesn't get it. Sometimes I actually think Obama might be the lesser of two evils. But it doesn't matter. I'm not participating in this farce.

ive been pictureing in my mind that the democrats might hold the presidency for the next 20 years.. the right will become more right as the liberals get more left, with the right arguements being soiled by all the tea party racism and the way the debate is framed now we will continue to lose. i know the republican rhetoric over the past few years have had us scared to shit that the ecomony will fail if obama gets a second term and it was urgent that we got ron paul elected or kept so and so democrat out of office.. but its more important to position our selves in the gop for future elections and show people the beauty of our philosophy.. we will have to win eventually

But what about the 'Overton Window'?!

*looks out the Overton Window, liberty is nowhere in sight, laugh to myself, get back to work disciplining and educating*

Ha, the same happened to me. Some guy telling me "Obammy" is going to destroy the country if I dont vote for AND get everyone I know to vote for Romney. I told him I'm not afraid of a Black man in the White House. He gave up after that, and even though Obama will never get my vote, bigots disgust me. I do believe a 3rd Party candidate can win (I think Perot could have won if he didn't quit) and Paul definitely had critical mass building. However, Paul is Wall Street's biggest nightmare so I don't think he EVER had a chance on the Republican ticket. Hence, the GOP dirty tricks.

I tell those types that it's not in the GOP's interest to win the WH this year. The economy will collapse over the next 4 years, and I really don't want "conservatism" and the "free market" to be blamed for what progs have done to this country for the last 100 years.

The Course of Empire
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Course_of_Empire

The Course of Empire is a five-part series of paintings created by Thomas Cole in the years 1833-36. It is notable in part for reflecting popular American sentiments of the times, when many saw pastoralism as the ideal phase of human civilization, fearing that empire would lead to gluttony and inevitable decay.

And they were right.

I was predicting 12 years with Obama and 2 Hillary terms. I think that would be the best-case scenario in developing a 3rd party candidate that can win. There's an unfortunate sentiment of "Paul was the last candidate I will vote for" going around and I think that's what needs to be fought against. I despise the Tea Party but they did show what can be changed with some effort.

i voted for gary johnson , tell people at least i didn't have to hold my nose like them.

I'm not one of those people that demands perfection (or near perfection) in a candidate and I'm willing to vote for a Republican if at least they're good on most issues but Romney is not one of those candidates.

That's where Gary Johnson comes in for me, he's no where near perfect for me, but on most issues he's good on and I'm willing to give him my vote (still haven't decided on whether to write in Ron Paul or not).

My preferred outcome would be a 269-269 EV tie,for the chaos it would cause in both parties and the media.

Second would be Romney winning the popular vote but losing the EV vote by much less than the Libertarian and Constitution Parties combined votes in a few key swing States that then go DEM.

Just in case the GOP was thinking about putting up another Worthless Statist Socialist DEM clone in 2016.

I don't volunteer any disrespect to the GOP nominee, but when party people ask me if I voted stright ticket, I tell the truth that I wrote in Ron Paul and voted GOP in most other races. I get a reaction of incredulity. "But.... Obama is SO BAD!!"

Tough. I won't settle for Romney. I can't trust him, and I don't know which etch-a-sketch I'd have been voting for. The RNC rules cramdown was the final straw.

I, along with my daughter (19 year old, first time voter), pulled the leve for Gary Johnson. Would have written in Ron Paul for sure, but no evidence it would be counted.

Will never again support the GOP or DNC maggots ....
