When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
Those words are very fitting in a situation such as this. We have joined your method of nomination and election, but only to find that you usurp your own laws and rules when things don't go your way. You act as the King did, and we do not accept that as an acceptable method for the peaceful transfer of power as our founders had envisioned for our country. So we the liberty movement have decided to pull back the curtains and expose you for the oligarchical, monarchy that you really are.

We are the Ron Paul founded, liberty party.
We are replacing the republican party and taking back our rightful name.
We will not be intimidated
We will not be paid off
We will not be fractured by your infiltration of Benton, Tate, Rand or even Ron
We will not allow your cheating or rule changing to go unchallenged
We will win
You will lose.

You have cheated by using the Media to hypnotize voters into supporting a flip flopping liberal
You have cheated by forming your own shadow party after we trounced you by your own rules
You have cheated by stuffing the ballot boxes in multiple states where Ron Paul was set to win
You have cheated by refusing to count votes in states where Ron Paul was set to win
You have cheated at every opportunity

We will now expose you at your own convention. Our voice will be heard and your lies will be exposed.
Even if we do not win the day at your convention, we vow to vote against both Republicans and Democrats to show our strength. We will write in or vote for a single opposing candidate as a show of strength on election day. You can compare your vote totals and only then realize how much you needed us.

OMG - we were the ones thrown under the bus! FACT: Rand Paul prefaced his endorsement of Romney on the FALSE claim that Romney already won the nomination.

For one, there are other threads for these STUPID arguments to take place. For two, there is nothing we can do but keep moving along with our liberty themed agenda. Keep working on getting family and friends on board with our ideas. Keep working on getting other candidates elected.

Please stop fighting, that is what the establishment wants.

WRONG! You just don't get it, do you liberty eagle? When will it sink in? There is no electing liberty people and turning the ship around. They will be blocked, or co-opted. Even if they skate by, it would take these folks a decade or longer of proving their liberty stripes in their voting record. And if they ever try to run for president, you've seen the result.

Face it, Ron Paul was an aberration. Its time to work outside the system. The corrupt system will collapse soon, why try to prolong the agony? Lets make other arraignments.

I'm starting to think like an agorist and prepper rolled into one.
 
I know some of you are fans of working outside the system. Those of you who insist on this path will, because of necessity, lose some people like me. My job requires me to uphold the the Constitution and laws of the United States. When the laws are improper under the constitution, my oath requires me to speak out against it. However, if those laws, no matter how stupid, are consistent with the Constitution, I must admit their legitimacy. Of course, I can still champion for their change.

Most political leaders take similar oaths. Going extralegal/extrajudical also broadcasts the movement in a bad light. We need to be inclusive as possible. Nothing happens overnight. Yet, we are winning on some issues. We win issue by issue and then candidate by candidate then party by party.
 
If Ron Paul loses, and Romney eventually loses to Obama, because we refuse to compromise, Ron Paul and the movement will be vilified and purged from the ranks of the party. The police state will become more powerful, the Fed will never be audited, the unlawful wars will continue and the Constitution will be forever dead and buried.

Now is not the time to be reactionary, now is the time to play our cards into the future and do it without feelings, become the cold calculating thinkers we are fighting against. So, please put emotion aside, use your heads and work this through to our best advantage going forward. (I dislike Romney as much as any of you, but we must play the hand we've been dealt, to our best advantage.)

I applaud the spirit of this. It implies the absence of mindless idolatry and suggests we go on regardless of any single man's ultimate disposition.

Our liberty, what remains of it anyway, hangs in the balance. Trust NOBODY completely.

As for Rand Paul, I have never been able to wrap any of my trust around him. This endorsement of Romney exposes a great flaw in his character, IMO. Perhaps he is salvageable. Perhaps he is not. As he currently stands, I would not vote for him as city dog catcher. You are either on board with the principles of human liberty or you are not. There is nothing between the two. Rand needs to decide what kind of a man he is going to be. Thus far I am not well impressed with his apparent choice to date.

These recent events are healthy in a way, because it's testing our unity to the message, not to a man. Everyone going to Tampa needs to aim as high as they can for success. Keep your eye on the ball. Take the fight to them and don't submit. They've done nothing but kick us around the entire time. Why should we lay down? We're not going to be "respectful" by establishment standards.

By your assertion the propriety of any given law predicates upon one's standard of judgment. Different people view the meanings of the Constitution differently. Given this, just about anything could be said to go. That is the sad pass to which we have devolved thanks to the rampant and rank ignorance of the great bulk of the people including many in the legal profession itself. We are in a nearly hopeless bind in that there appears to be no standard meaning of the Constitution. Either it has never existed or it has been obfuscated through time. Without a crystal clear understanding of the unwavering meaning of the provisions of that document there is no way that you or anyone else may legitimately feel "comfortable" with upholding a given law. Bear in mind that at one time selling and buying Negroes was very much "constitutional", as were the Jim Crow laws.

In some respects our Constitution appears to be hopelessly weak and inadequate to the task to which it was intended. Even if the Constitution "empowers" a state, Congress, or my border collie to act, who says that is correct and that it may be imposed upon the rest with impunity and the ultimate threat of death against any who fail to comply? I do well understand the bind in which you find yourself, but that does not of necessity mean that acting in accord with your oath is automatically correct.

So did the shots fired by Minutemen against Redcoats. For whom is the light "bad" and should we necessarily care what those peoples' opinions are? Had the Minuntement and those of the continental army been of the same apparent bent as I perceive you expressing here, I am tempted to assert that we would all be subjects of the Crown and talking with the silliest of accents as we sipped our tea, pinkies out.

May I politely suggest you examine the implications of your oath? Such oaths do not absolve one of the responsibility to think for oneself such that the understanding of that which they swore to defend is adequate such that one is in fact capable of rendering a proper decision in determining whether any given law comports itself properly with the standard. In my opinion the v ast and overwhelming proportion of the corpus of laws relating to individual human behavior are null and void.

Well enough, if indeed it turns out that way, which I hope will prove the case. But if not, one must always reserve their right to go around the "system" when it becomes clear that satisfaction of perfectly legitimate demands and goals is not to be realized. The law is an ass and must by necessity be kept on an impossibly short leash if one's desire is to live freely. This cannot be escaped, and if people are not willing to bear the risks and the responsibilities of acting correctly regardless of what some arbitrarily constituted group calling itself "government" says, then the best suggestion I have is to bend over, spread 'em, and hope like hell they show the decency to use lubricant.

Demanding "Republican Party unity" IS falling into the trap. They know damn well that NON REPUBLICAN Freedom Fighters will either:

1.) Break from Republicans, ALMOST certainly losing as Third Party

or

2.) Join Republicans, CERTAINLY shooting to hell and gone the claim that they stand on Principles.

"Friendly" reminder: WINNING is not a Principle.

You can 'prep' and prepare for the worst and continue to help, share the message and motivate. These ARE NOT mutually exclusive concepts.

It has taken 100 years for the Liberal/Progessives, to move the nation to the way we are today. I hope we can move it back in 30-years with dedication, inspiration and perspiration.

In 2008 a small movement happened. When it was over, pretty much everyone dispersed and went back to sleep.

This time, it is different, and will remain so as long as we stay the course.

Political party, City, County, State and Federal. There are positions to be reclaimed in the name of liberty. A lot has happened this time that NEVER happened last time and a lot more CAN happen if you want it to be so.

Just because someone only agrees with 90% or more, doesn't make them the enemy.

The TEA party lost half their representatives following the 2010 election in the first year. They lost their way and were persueded to give in and 'compromise' their principles away and became part of the system. We have to learn from that and elect better people and learn ourselves, to support them by letting our views heard by phone and email. They cannot stand alone (well, Ron Paul has), but very few other cannot withstand the continual pressure without our loud and vocal support.

Anyone who is 50%+ for liberty is good for the moment in my book. As I only see around 20 or so people that fit that criteria, I don't see the point in hanging them for some political machinations, although I do find it disappointing.

What was that saying about 'if we don't stick together, we will hang separately'. Its not a good example, but if you give up and attack the wrong people, THEY will win.

Remember, the federal Government is made up of 536 people.

President = 1 - every 4 years
Senate = 100 - every 6 years (one Third every 2-years)
House = 435 - every 2 years

They are all replaceable, if we can get enough people engaged and motivated. The same people locally/grassroots who vote in the party, city and county elections, are the same people that vote in State and Federal elections.

Giving up and in-fighting will only weaken us.

It will not help us and will not make our message grow.

Pick you battles carefully and prudently.

Middle roader's can be swayed, and later replaced when better candidates come along.

Stay the course, keep the faith, put your energy into winning and the positive. Its the only way to succeed.

That's great, but if you haven't noticed, we don't have anywhere near that long before SHTF.
 
I'm a realist.

I understand how we got here. No one likes change. The liberal/progessives and the complicit media shout and scream about ANY change that moves us back 10 years let alone 100 years. They say 'its extremist'.

And what, exactly, do you think will happen when you just quit and give up ?

They only got so far, as very few people stood up and opposed them and they steam rollered over them.

The instant gratification of making something work today or tomorrow doesn't work in politics. Its slow and gradual. get people used to the change then change it some more.

Make sure we got a bigass crowd outside.. especially veterans. If they ignore the crowd, maybe do something to get attention =p. I don't mean violence of course.

I felt it was unfair for the poster to be accused of throwing people under the bus without knowing the facts, when the fact is, we were thrown under the bus. I did not initiate the conversation, but I will stand up for my principles. This is like us being told to be respectful at conventions when the other guys are throwing punches. We are not the bad guys here. I do agree we shouldn't be "fighting" on these forums, but I also think that recent events do justify spirited discussions.
