I wonder how many in the U.S.

What I find hilarious is when people like the anchors on the MSM say that this recession (regardless of it becoming a depression) is only going to last a year or so. HAHAH is anyone going to argue that these corporations are going to be hiring people back as fast as they laid them off? Heck no! It's like putting on fat. Once you do it takes twice as long and twice as much work to take it off.

Oh but wait we have Obongo who's going to create 2.5 million jobs in the next two years by fixing the infrastructure problems in the U.S. Wow I mean just look at how productive most local city workers are. Can't imagine how much money we are going to waste at the national level with a bunch of overpaid workers holding SLOW signs and fixing potholes.

TRIBUNE ENTERTAINMENT is bankrupt...

the Chicago Trib was at the start of a dynasty. i think of Ben Hecht, even now!
the LA TIMEs was only a recent acquisition. -----like the blinky lil' lights going out in
the news~reel sequence of CITIZEN KANE, http://www.tribune.com/ its sad
to see this media giant very much on the ropes and going into oblivion!

Exactly. We do need infrastructure upgrades/repairs, but our government waits for a crisis to do this. Not only that, but Infrastructure Jobs are construction jobs. How would this help all the other people not associated with construction? I know there is a ripple effect, but that takes much longer than expected. Not only that, but once the job is done, your job is over. I don't believe this mini FDR new new deal will help. Those things FDR did were thought to extend the depression for 10 years.

CUT in Employees... 5-10%

I used to be a forklift driver for sony, I hated that place. I actually walked out on the job for certain reasons but it was a sweatshop indeed.

They used to tell us, you can either have a life OR work for sony and it's your choice.

That was when they had us working 21 days straight of 8-12 hour days THEN 1 day off THEN back on for 21 MORE days.

Looking back, I didn't realize how they made us feel like we always had to KEEP our jobs and it was more of a privilege and at any time they can drop you like a hat. I think plenty of people feel the same way about their current jobs.

It's sad really BUT sony is a p.o.s.

There are many small growing companies that will take the place of many of the larger corporations in the future. It really is the natural order of things.

Many small, hungry, nimble entrepreneurs will out work the older, slower, less resourceful large corporations.

And, lo, they shall wail and lament, and shall cry out, "How can we be bankrupt when we were too big to fail?" And then they shall open their morning papers and read Dilbert, and their eyes shall be opened. And there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
