What does Rand Paul believe about Social Security?

What should Rand Paul say when pressed about what he believes about SS?

it'd be cool if he proposed an "opt-out" option like Ron Paul did w/ healthcare. Working together, they could start crafting the foundation of a true liberty platform.

I've only seen two official statements on the campaign website. Both are about letting seniors who receive social security opt out of medicare if they wish to.

I had no idea this was going on.

As far as what he should say? That's for him and his advisers to decide. I support the idea of letting young people opt out of social security. Just look at the bottom of any SS statement. It says "This system will go broke by (some date a few years off)". That and it's important to hammer home how runaway deficits and debt put all programs including SS in jeopardy.

he supports raising the reitirement age to 70

Well, it obvious even his supporters are unclear on his position. Which is why this needs to be on his website as well... Come on Rand!

He supports raising the age to fix the problem if that is the only fix and it appears to be. He doesn't just blindly support raising the age to 70.

Social Security should be:

(1) voluntary on an individual basis
(2) those funds should not be touched for borrowing by the federal government.

I hope Rand doesn't disappoint me with his answer. This is a huge one.
