I believe that if Huckabee does not win Texas tonight, that he will drop out.

We know that he MAY pledge himself to McCain, we know he will definitely ask his delegates to support McCain. But what will the media say?

As far as I know, and correct me if I'm wrong, but regardless of the amount of delegates that are PRESUMED by the media that he will have after tonight (and remember that the current 1000 delegates he "has" are NOT actually decided upon), he still cannot get the AUTOMATIC nomination if he is not the last Republican candidate standing, at least until the Republican National Convention where the nominee is actually decided / voted upon by the delegates at that convention.

Won't this cause the media to have no choice but to acknowledge Ron Paul as a candidate since McCain won't automatically be nominated, even if they probably still won't give him much attention?

I'd like some input on this, thank you.

lol, no. John McCain will just be announced the nominee by every news outlet.

I doubt anything will change at all. I can't remember the last time I heard the media mention Huckabee.

Wishful thinking. Technically McCain won't have the nomination, correct, but that doesn't stop the media from acting like it. Don't believe they will suddenly acknowledge him, they are going to report McCain is the nominee regardless of how official it is.

the msm will never acknowledge ron until he's in the office. even then, i'm not sure they will. it sounds silly, but look what they're doing now with only 3 remaining.

I see them mention Huckabee a decent amount. Nowhere near as much as McCain, but he is mentioned. Just a half hour ago Greta from Fox News interviewed him for 5 mins or so about his campaign, the democrats, etc.

You may be right though, that they may just make it sound like he is the flat-out nominee, even though it is not actually possible until the RNC. You'd think that this would be a violation of the FCC rules, and maybe we should raise hell about it if it is the case. That just sounds like a clear-cut violation of FCC rules to me.

They are talking to/about him today because it is another Super Tuesday. He has barely been mentioned for weeks, but then again RP was statistically ignored. See below.

Main Newsmaker / Significant Presence / Total Percent of Campaign Stories

Barack Obama (D) 48.1% 20.9% 69.0%
Hillary Clinton (D) 46.6 11.6 58.2
John McCain (R) 18.1 10.4 28.5
Michael Bloomberg 3.0 0 3.0
Ralph Nader (I) 2.3 0.5 2.8
Mike Huckabee (R) 1.0 0.5 1.5
Bill Clinton 0.8 0.7 1.5
Ron Paul (R) 0 0 0

Total Number of Campaign Stories = 397

What can anyone do about that?

The media will pretend ron paul doesn't have the nomination even if he does. Watch a film on google video called 'the revolution will note be televised' if you doubt them capable.

This is why it would be absolutely hilarious if RP could somehow manage to get the nomination.

yes it would be but this isn't very likely. yes, it CAN happen so I'm not counting it out but the number of planets and meteors and comets and stars and moons and satellites, and other space dust that would have to be aligned for it to happen is virtually insurmountable. But this isn't to say that there isn't other possitives that can come from it. A strong showing of support for Dr. Paul would be seen as a major success and a boost to the Movement.

I never expected to completely turn around the entire Government in one election cycle. But this is a good start. Ron will keep his Congressional seat. People are getting educated. We now know how this game is played. We know what to expect next time and we are starting to get a grassroots organization in place. I think we can also learn from our mistakes.

Think of this as a test run. As long as people are truely committed to the core values of the Constitution, then we should continue to get victories in the Congressional seat and be much better prepared in 4 years.... because God knows, the country is going to be even more screwed by then.

Let's just hope that sites like this one aren't mined for thought crimes and we aren't all labeled terrorists and stuck into FEMA concentration camps, or worse yet part of Rendition and sent to some other country to be tortured for supporting Ron Paul. I'd laugh if I actually weren't a little worried about this.
