So it’s 28 million to Ron Paul and less than 6.5 to Karl Marx

By Dr Tim Evans, on 12 February 10

When I was a child in the 1960s and 70s who could have imagined something like this? Forget the mindboggling sophistication of the technology. Today, if you do a Google search, US Congressman Ron Paul blows Karl Marx out of the water. Paul’s scores 28,800,000 search results to an unbelievably poor 6,260,000 for Marx.

Now, it is true that these things take a long time to play through, but as a sociologist I am excited by the long-term cultural, political and economic impact of these sorts of numbers for social reformers such as us.

For everyone at TCC, Paul’s recent book ‘End The Fed’ is a must read. Have you got your copy yet? Fascinating.

That's really mind boggling. Even for net censored China, you would think all the forced school reports on the origins of communism their students must do would bolster Marx's ratings at least a little. Thanks for the good news.

Freedom is still popular--even will all the recent dumbing down of American students

2,210,000 for Murray Rothbard

670,000 for Ludwig von Mises

602,000 for Lew Rockwell

17,500,000 for Thomas Woods

1,920,000 for Walter Block

Not too bad...

You have put quotes around them to get accurate results. Ron Paul without quotes to Google is Ron Paul or Ron or Paul = 28M. "Ron Paul" = 6,040,000.

Thomas Woods' numbers are quite impressive. I'd subtract a couple million because there are other Thomas Woods's that start being mentioned on the second page, but that is still shockingly high numbers.

Now we all know what this means.
Bust really is/was a "miserable failure."
And France never had any military victories, except the
Hundreds Year war and Napolean(sp).

Number of Google results mean nothing.
Just how many people are talking about Ron or Karl, good or bad.

The other guy is right, though; you have to put the name in quotation marks for the result to be meaningful. Otherwise you're getting every mention of Thomas and every mention of Woods.
