Sneaker riots - who pays $220 for a pair of sneakers?

lol, there is a place near where I live that sells sneakers for 6,000 a pair. I'll post a pic when they put up the display.

I dunno must be a pretty ritzy neighborhood. Around here some one would probably have to have their housing subsidized, their groceries given to them and free medical care to be able to spend their unreported drug sale money to afford them.

$220 for shoes isn't that much. For a pair of crappy sneakers, yes. For dress shoes, it's not at all.

I want these, LOL:

most acceptable pairs of sneakers are around $100 min. So $220 is not that much of a stretch if they are the 'new' whatever...it's part of black culture. Funny thing is that the sneakers are being made for about $5 if that...talk about getting robbed. Ha. the place that sells sneakers near me deliberately over prices them because they know the blacks (some urban whites) must have them to be 'cool' and acceptable...so there is price inflation. It is like women's shoes, they all want to have the special limited edition sneakers to be different etc...that is why sneakers are constantly coming out like every few months.

The most I have ever paid for a pair of shoes was about $80 and that was stretching my budget. Even if I was rich I couldn't justify spending any more than $100...

I have worn the same style shoe for 6 years. Globe Tilt. I paid around $30.00 for the pair and I'm on my 4th pair. I do have a very expensive pair of running shoes though. But I went the cheep route for one year and my feet get murdered (I run a lot). So now I have to pay around $150-200 for a good pair of running shoes. I would never pay anything more than $100 for some casual shoes as after that its just a fad.

And have you guys seen some of the HIGH $$ shoes, they look really dumb sometimes.

Acala should be in this thread. Barefoot running for the win.

Made in America Redwing boots here.....
Tennis shoes are for wearing to the river or lake.

This shouldn't surprise you considering the current state of things. People have been carefully molded over the years by television to think superficially.

What's messed up is that a lot of people buying $220 sneakers, paying $120 a month for unlimited mobile phone, choose those priorities over health insurance.

There not three bucks anymore?

We had pretty much two choices. Black and white. Oh yeah. Low or high-top.

I have never paid more than $50 for a pair of shoes (except dress shoes). The ones I am wearing now were around $35 and even that was insane but it was about the best quality shoe for the cheapest price I could find. People who pay hundreds for dollars for tennis shoes deserve their poverty.

That doesn't sound acceptable to me, sounds like they are buying them purely for fashion. Like a woman spending $10,000 on a purse or some shit.
