Smartest Political move of 2012...

This is not a bad idea. Awhile back I had the privilege of meeting with both the campaign and various grassroots leaders (way out of my league. Don't know exactly how I got invited) in Washington State on our strategy going forward. This meeting slipped my mind until recently, when things are starting to make much more sense. Essentially we outlined Washington's plan going forward. We were going to set up a system where the lines between grassroots and campaign were blurred and we would be working together. I don't know for sure, but I think this is now happening on a wide scale level.

i agree with u, the timing is confusing.
there are so many conventions this weekend, and what was the harm in just continuing as till now ?
a few speeches and laser focus on the delegates.
as someone said, the soft support will vanish now and fundraising drop even further.

I would've preferred they waited until after the money bomb and after TX/CA Primary, but that's just me....

With the conventions (6 or 7 of them?) this weekend... that's a HUGE day. If the strategy is to play dead, it might be great timing.

GOP State Convention honchos on the left, Paulbots on the right. (that's an opossum)

The problem with this, though, is that you expect every Ron Paul supporter to have the wherewithal to look beyond the media spin. Ron Paul does have soft support. Not everybody is a hard-core Ron Pauler like the members of this forum. This could (and will) decrease financial support to the campaign, and certainly the perception of widespread legitimacy.

Delegates are way past the point of caring what the media says. Casual voters and soft support may erode but delegates are already heavily vested in the process. Hell, I've already paid for my state convention registration and hotel room. I'm not changing a thing just because of some email and media spin.

your story will be repeated a thousand times by other RP delegates.....we are strong

....I bet the romney camp is trying to figure out what to do now......

What about the states w/ primaries and no conventions? How do we really get enough delegates?

Rofl. Ron Paul couldn't shut this down even if he wanted to.

QFT.

This is bigger than Ron Paul. This is an end to the endless wars. This is bringing the bankers to their knees. This is restoring our country to it's former glory. This is ending corruption. This is Liberty.

And this has just begun.

Exactly! This movement is far bigger than Dr. Paul. There will be other leaders of this movement that come after Dr. Paul, maybe some that are more appealing to the main stream. This is just the beginning. We are building the foundation of liberty at the moment. Things are really going to take off in the upcoming years. Don't get me wrong, I'm all in for getting RP in the white house this year, and shudder to think what will happen to this country if he doesn't. But rest assured this movement is growing by leaps and bounds. The younger generation is liberty minded and they are the future. Keep the faith people. One little email should not dampen anyones resolve.
