I find it rather curious that the site would be down the few times I went to it today. Sure, it was also up (as I check the ticker), but I can't imagine a site would go down under such light load.

A site this hefty should be able to handle the load easily.

I really doubt they would go after Ron Paul, but who knows. I think the site was overloaded by the thousands and thousands of people watching the ticker.
