SiriusXM cancels Mike Church show

Mike's a class act, and that isn't sarcasm. He is the only reason I subscribe to Sirius. Look for my receiver to be available on eBay soon.

Mandeville, LA - Brothers, I will tell you discreetly, SOME of what transpired at SiriusXM and what I will be doing as a result. The boys atBreitbart.com have successfully maneuvered to take over the Patriot Channel morning drive show. I was denied being moved to another time or channel, COMPLETELY denied (after 13 years!). I was instead offered a "weekend show" which I declined. No hard feelings. I pray for the success of my successors, the Patriot Channel and SiriusXM. They made a decision they believe is best for them. Now, please, brothers, allow me a few moments to tell you the exciting news concerning the decision I believe is best for me.

That's a shame. I remember during Ron's first run, he was coming on Mike's show and I was preparing myself for more abuse, and he said, "Dr. Paul, I am a fan." Ron sounded as relieved as I was.

So Breitbart is taking over Patriot? Great. Just what the media needs...more neo-Trots.

I will be launching the all-new Remnant Radio Network and its new, feature channel which we have code named "CRUSADE". On Wisdom Wednesday morning, Nov 11. at 08:00 a.m. we will re-launch the Mike Church Show on the CRUSADE Channel. The show will air FREE from 9-noon EST at mikechurch.com's Founders Pass Media Player, via the Stitcher app and very soon, the Mike Church Show APP for Android and iOS devices, and there will be 2 in-studio cameras to carry the Webcast via YouTube! Founders Pass members will also have access to the show via our On-Demand service that stocks 4 weeks of shows, listed by date and day of the week! The Mike Church Show will rebroadcast at 03:00 Central and midnight. The show will be available FREE daily on the CRUSADE channel but you'll need a Founders Pass Membership to access the daily podcast.

I'm curious. Isn't sattlelite radio headed the way of the dodo bird anyway with folks steaming over hotspots or cell phones?

I agree, he is really the only talk show host I enjoy listening to because he is educational and humorous. The downside is that for the past year or so he has been going off about Catholicism which doesn't apply to me whatsoever. I think a lot of people are turned off by it.

I like Mike but to be honest, I stopped liking his show. I used to listen to him a few years ago and then I didn't have SiriusXM for a while. I got SiriusXM temporarily for a few months this year, and I found myself not liking his program at all. He's not very good at defending his points against people who call in to disagree with him, and I frankly found the show to be very boring and sometimes annoying. Many times I felt like he wasn't focused enough and would go off in weird directions.

Andrew Wilkow is my favorite host. He's not 100% libertarian, but loves talking about economics, and can articulate Austrian Economics better than many libertarians can.

Yeah, that was my other issue. That, and him talking about how he agreed more with Trump on foreign policy than Rand Paul.

Sucks. He is going to be replaced by Breitbart. Those guys are gonna put me to sleep in the morning.

As annoying as Mike has been lately on his Catholicism kick, he's still far more entertaining than the Breitbart guys.

If nothing else, this has brought to my non-satellite attention two fine libertarian talk show hosts. I note on YouTube there are a lot of uploads of Church and Wilkow's shows and speeches.

Yeah, because they're built in to lots of new cars. It's not really a relevant platform anymore. I remember when Howard Stern and Opie and Anthony went to satellite, it was being predicted that it would supplant terrestrial radio the way cable TV replaced network television. It hasn't happened, and won't.

Time will tell.

I never understood the appeal. No offense, but who in their right mind would actually pay money to hear a radio broadcast? It's like paying for air when all you have to do is breathe for free.

Because Mike was as close to a liberty guy as anyone has ever gotten on mainstream radio.

Radio is archaic. Podcasting is the future. You get 100% of the revenue you generate and there's nobody to be beholden to, nobody barking orders in your ear telling you what to do and what not to do. Anthony Cumia made the transition after SiriusXM fired him for getting punched in the face by a woman in NYC.

Begins @ 1:47:40

I like Sirius XM but they have gotten rid of all controversial content. They ran Anthony Cumia off the station for trumped up bullshit, and Howard Stern has went PC and sold out big time. The only guy worthwhile on there from what I can tell is Ron Bennington, and he's talking about pop culture nonsense half the time.

They will die a much deserved death every soon.
