Sign the petition to Support RP's Bill to end involvement in the UN

Thank you I even got my 85 year old grandma to sign it write a letter and make a ophone call to ALL her senators and her Rep Adam Putnam

As much as I hate the UN, pulling out would be disastrous. We have a huge amount of power as one of the permanent members of the security council, and withdrawing from that spot would lose us our veto power. This would give Russia and China free reign and could lead to even worse things for the US than are already happening.

Veto power is only a good thing in the hands of someone uncorrupted.

True enough, but the UN is becoming so powerful now that to leave could mean even greater breeches of our sovereignty than may currently exist, e.g. the SC saying we have violated a country's territorial integrity and action therefore must be taken against us. If we're not there to veto, we could be screwed.

what, all those European countries who are just SOOO militant are gonna send troops into American soil? PLEASE.

They'd have to be insane to even think it. Even China. And we would still remain the economic hegemon

Perhaps that is the case now, but even military superiority doesn't last forever. Russia, for one, is making immense headway in military technology. China is not far behind.

Beyond that, not all breeches of sovereignty involve military invasions. If we're not there to veto, we could face numerous economic sanctions. This could mean a significantly lower amount of exports, the only thing keeping our economy alive.

Obviously, these are hypothetical situatons that could be postulated about all day long, but my point is that dropping out of the UN wouldn't be a good thing for the US right now. We just need to assert our authority and veto anything that undermines our sovereignty, including refusing to pay any sort of taxes or fees they may demand to support their ever-expanding bureaucracy.

I'm in the same boat as most other RP supporters and want to protect the liberties we espouse here as much as the next guy. I just think pulling out would not be the best course of action to achieve this.

That is quite true but on the whole face of the earth we have the best land in the world. The world over will always need our food. There is no other farmland which is even close to ours anywhere. No Food No Life, sanction see how far you get. If we pulled our imported jobs back home we wouldn't need an export in my opinion (i don't condone not exporting just making a blanket statement). I don't know about minerals and such (iron, steel and the likes), and whether or not we could be isolationist and survive without these as I don't know if we export or import this stuff.

The one big thing that I know we definitely import a lot of besides oil would be trees for all sorts of use if we became isolated due to dropping out of the UN.

I know one thing that we can always export regardless of circumstances is ????? WEAPONS!!! That will never get sanctioned.

signed...and thanks.
we need to put together more petitions which support the message Dr Paul speaks of.
