Sign Petition For LP To Remove Bob Barr!

Everyone,

Bob Barr's track record of supporting the War in Iraq, the Patriot Act, and the War on Drugs should have been enough to prevent him from obtaining the LP nomination. But he was nominated anyway. However, his recent actions and statements have proven beyond any doubt he does not deserve to be the Libertarian candidate for president.

Please sign this petition for the LP to remove Bob Barr as their Presidential candidate.

This nation deserves a better candidate.

The freedom movement deserves a better candidate.

The LP deserves a better candidate.

Uh...Er....You neglected to mention that a small "donation" is required to vote. Just sayin'.

It would help to all become actual members prior to submitting this petition :D

For me, I feel it's none of my business to try and coerce a private organization that I'm not a member of. Are you going to be doing this for the other parties, too? :D

Only 1000 removes Barr?

This reminds me of the Woody Allen line: "I would never join a club that would have me as a member"...

If 1000 removes him, how many ramps him up into position of "contender" for President? 1200? 1800?

Naw, it's an arbitrary number prior to printing out the petition and sending to the LP. It may have no effect, a small effect, or it might help them realize that a few things about the LP need to change if they actually want votes. Though I'm not entirely convinced they do want votes, so hey, it's obviously your choice if you want to sign or not. :)

You're a good sport. I just signed your petition. I am sorry I made fun of your "1000" number. Everything helps. I hope you will vote 3rd Party in November.

it's idiotic and shows how worthless the C4L is.

People are supposed to be taking responsibility for their community, but the people signing this don't really do anything other then browse the web.

What does this petition have to do with C4L? The only idiotic remark I see on this thead is yours unfotunatly. Barr should of known better than to pull a cheap publicity stunt. I don't agree with the Barr bashing but he dugg his own defeat in our movment.

Barr bashing > increased name ID > more awareness of Barr's candidacy = more Barr votes! :)

"Menthol Patch and Bob Barr sitting in a tree..."

Negative ad campaigns are counterproductive?

First there has to be name recognition at all. Statistically few Americans know who Bob Barr or Ron Paul (or Dick Cheney or anyone not on American Idol or, well, I digress) are. Again, it takes six times before anyone remembers a person's name at all. For those first five, they aren't going to remember if it was negative or not, but on the sixth, it will be "Oh yeah, I think I've heard of him." Only then does what the impression is factor in at all. After that point, yes, negative ads are harmful (if done well, many backfire).

Look at the early attacks on Palin (ignoring that most were completely erroneous or half-truths or out of context). The higher her name ID rose, the more people supported her. People want to think they know who these people are, etc, so to some degree they tell pollsters--and vote--for whom they recognize. She's past that tipping point, me thinks, now though. Bob Barr is no where close to that for most voters.

wow this is a productive effort lol

here is a thought, if you don't like him then don't vote for him...

spend effort on productive things like getting MORE votes for 3rd party candidates instead of wasting time trying to remove them.

hell do what you can to remove mccain and obama if anything, at least barr even though he is a piece of shit is STILL a better option to vote for than mccain and obama because it will at least show the "gop" and dem republic that WE THE PEOPLE can and will vote for OTHER candidates outside of their 2 party system.
