Should Ron Paul Personally Campaign in Hawaii?

Should Dr. Paul Personally Campaign in Hawaii for more than 1 day?

Unfortunately, I think the campaign is locked into more traditional states -- and perhaps for a reason. Maybe because those are people they can better follow up on to get to Tampa, maybe they think making sure people fly in from Guam would be more difficult, or whatever. But I have this niggling feeling Ron is basing parts of his campaign on a campaign of a different person with a more southern oriented base -- not that Ron doesn't have that, but when it comes to 'soft support' it seems easier to get from independents and others who care about the 4th amendment and habeus corpus.
Exactly why the open primary states are so important.

Hawaii also has plenty of buddhist voters and with Ron Paul's peace policy, we can get their support.

That's a very good point about the buddhist voters there. I hadn't thought of that. Of course I have no idea what percentage of buddhist voters turnout to vote. We've all learned that it seems like 100% of mormon voters turn out.

Today was a good day, and over $100K was raised. Do you believe as I do that it would be a good use of that money to send Dr. Paul personally to Hawaii for more than 1 day, so he could spend a little time in Hawaii, meet with the elders, hold small town halls, and do some retail style campaigning?

Yes, I believe Ron Paul should personally campaign for voters and delegates in Hawaii.

bump.

The campaign and Hawaii needs to shake things up come Tuesday when the Mississippi and Alabama primaries take place. A Ron Paul victory in Hawaii will surely have the media talking about how the race is starting to open up once again. Donations are coming in low once again and a victory on Tuesday will have them pouring in once again.

We need to find something to offset the primaries and launch ourselves into a campaign of a lifetime. They will no longer ignore the Ron Paul Revolution.

Yes! His fundraising % is 35 in HI. http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?360378-Fundraising-vs-votes-for-Dr.-Paul-by-state

Someone mentioned Delaware, fundraising % is 36 there. HI and DE are two of the best states remaining along with MT and WI.
A word of caution: ND and AK are THE best states according to those numbers but it did not workout that way

What is the harm in going there? Even if it is a loss, there cannot be a result better than a loss in the remaining states until Tuesday.

Ron Paul can talk about the relationship between Zen Buddhism and Christianity, which I personally think they can be very compatible religions.

Yeah, of course. Paul is not going anywhere in Alabama or Mississippi. The other three GOP candidates can focus on those two states while Paul has Hawaii all to himself.

What's the campaign waiting on? Get Paul in a Hawaiian shirt, a pair of shorts and have him camp out in Hawaii until its Tuesday caucus.

Yea, I don't know why they are staging these "Rock Concerts" in Kansas and Missouri when Hawaii is a small state he can actually WIN! Everybody predicted KS and MO are Santorum country. Sure, we need to have organization in KS and MO to get delegates, but Ron doesn't have to campaign hard there because he has very little chance to sway popular vote there. But HAWAII is his for the taking! Come on, campaign, get the Doctor out there!!

RP is now in Missouri (votes next Saturday). Makes sense because earlier today he was next door in Kansas for today's caucus.

No other events are shown on the official website.

How cool would it be, what a great surprise, to wake up tomorrow morning to find that he flew overnight to be in Hawaii starting Sunday, that John Tate and his brother Ronnie were there only to be setting up things in advance?? Stealing a march on the other campaigns. I can dream. At the very minimum he deserves a little time in a place with nicer weather. It's not like there's anything meaningful to be gained in AL or MS.

Then after the Tuesday HI caucus he could come back to MO for a second round of campaigning there, kind of like what he did in ID and WA.

This is kind of where I'm coming from too. ;)

Ron does well in islands. Wouldn't MO be a lot like KS? I know he'll be in Connecticut at some point, and he is in or going to Illinoois

What I want to know about the Missouri caucus is whether the turnout will be as high as the Missouri primary? Or if voters know that there is a caucus that will follow up?

I highly expect the turnout to be quite a bit lower, how much lower I couldn't say but lower seems very likely.
(anyone with more tangible information care to pipe up on this?)

He's probably trying to keep the troops fired up and excited to make sure they attend their conventions. We actually appear set to pretty well dominate in Missouri's caucuses, conventions, etc., and thus in actual delegates.

But yes, a little bit of that is enough and now it is time to say Aloha to Missouri and ALOO-HA! to Hawaii!

Zanzibar or Matt Collins or someone from the campaign, I hope you're listening. Please! Do it! Help us feel like our input is being listened to at least a little bit.

Time for email mini-bomb to Doug Wead to get Ron Paul to Hawaii! :-D

Poor Doug. He probably gets so many emails from us. It's awfully nice of him to respond so much. He's responded to quite a few of mine and I'm sure he's done it to a lot of other people too.

I believe this to be a true statement. How do we +rep him in real life? ;) (or has he already done that for himself by being such a patent stand up fella :) )

Yep. He's responded to mine. I try not to email him unless I feel that I have to. ;)
