Should Rand Threaten to Debate Bernie Sanders Jan 14 On Rival Network if Not In Main Debate?

If Rand isn't in the main debate he said he wont do the undercard. Signaling to FOX and the RNC that he may debate Sanders on a rival station if this doesnt gets worked out could help him make the cut.

Don't get me wrong. This is a debate I would LOVE to see go down. Personally I think if it were actually taken up by a tele-media company the viewership would crush these current right/left debates.

I agree with you but sometimes faulty perception becomes reality. Both candidates would benefit from this.

There are a lot of people that won't vote for an atheist Jew. Believe it or not, the democrat party has a lot of Christian fundamentalists too.

I wonder if Netflix could somehow host it and fuck over the TV networks entirely. Netflix already has a bajillion subscribers and I'd imagine they'd garner a huge amount of new free trial subscriptions. I think this would be deliciously humiliating for network TV and roughly equivalent to extinguishing a cigarette in the eye of the establishment. Make both political parties and the media suffer while the public has something more interesting and substantive to tune into.

Also, Bernie vs Rand would probably be something of a global phenomenon. It's not the niche category of primary election political theater... it's socialism vs capitalism.

I think someone would bite. This would certainly be the opportunity where we could find out, yes or no. And it would finally establish Rand as bucking the media establishment. A live stream on Netflix or YouTube is another possibility, or running it as a paid infomercial. If CW ran it and it got the same or higher ratings as the debate, it would be a gamechanger smash for both Rand and Sanders.
