Shocking News: 60,000 Families have lost there homes, and are now living in tent city

When did the action of praying become communist???? Praying is Democratic.

I agree with some of what you say else where in other threads; but praying is democratic? America and our way of life was built on taking advantage of people; from day one and this is inarguable, it is the nature of capitalism. God is not going to save anybody from anything, and you can pray until you are blue in the face but God and Government should be separate, entirely. God is an idea and a bad one at that (I realize this is my opinion and I am not bashing your beliefs but you have to be realistic) I am sorry but religion never saved anybody from death and destruction, no matter how much they prayed. If God does exist, it could care less... Not to mention our housing crisis is a joke compared to how the rest of the world lives. Take a trip to any third world country if you want to see real crisis and the results of the American way of life. America needs to learn to live under the constraints of its own means and not at the expense of everyone else; a hard lesson for us all.

amen!

You can't fault people who were brought up to be ignorant of any and all financial matters for being ignorant about financial matters.

NOBODY knows shit about our monetary system. The ones who think they do only have a one sided view of how the economy works. When I hear all the tv newscasters talk about how great "injecting liquidity" is for the economy I want to puke. There is another 50 cents a gallon on your gas, another dollar on your dozen eggs and gallon of milk, another few bucks a month on all of your bills.

Why does everything have to suck so much.

On the original point dont fault the people suffering right now for doing exactly what the government and other societal leaders encouraged them to do. Im encouraged to take out loans for school/car/house every day not only by all the forms of the media and advertising, but the gov as well (bush: our problems will be solved by more shopping!)

/wrists

It doesn't take much for rational intelligent people to descend into chaotic lashing out, does it?.

The elites know this, our technology is irrelevant, human nature is still the same.

This type of irrationality (reaction to an engineered problem) is what will be used as a pretext for Martial Law soon (perhaps thrown in with some false flag ops), while the establishment of NAU takes place, after which American Constitution will be relegated to 2nd tier legal document (after NAU constitution).

Ron Paul is a great man, but he is too late.

4 years of another CFR puppet is all but assured.

The smart ones will diversify out of dollars, into commodities..

Hahaha.
I hope that CitiGroup or JP Morgan takes prayer checks for mortgage payments.
BTW, who signs those? You or god?

If you think I am a troll...maybe you should view the commercials we made to save Dr. Paul over $100,000 in ad placements........Just because I don't think we should judge people...you think I am brainwashed...very sad that you have little compassion..one day you will wish you did.

Here are a few commercials we did..

Speak for yourself about the fact you have no faith or honor to your creator. I for one honor my God and realize that Dr. Paul is a gift so that we may all understand what is going on...Faith is different than religion and if I have to explain that point, you are too far gone anyway. Dr. Paul honors God, and so do I...so go ahead and call Dr. Paul your names and see if he cares either!

Gold Star for the MOST ridiculous statement EVER on RPF. Free markets are about free trade, the opposite of "taking advantage" of people. Government is about taking advantage of people at the point of a gun; capitalism is about people freely trading goods and services with no coercion involved.

mantras for 2100st century american

support the troops
invest for the long haul
renting in just throwing money away
your house is a safe store of wealth (or at least an ATM machine)
the economic fundamentals are sound
every vote should count

True Dat

what i meant was only in communist/socialist nations governments take care of all the people. in capitalist nations, governments don't give a shit and i have a choice of not giving a shit because it is a democratic state.

That's why the standard of living is so wonderful in communist and socialist countries, because the government takes such wonderful care of the people.

I've been reading Frank Chodorov lately. He makes a very important and very significant distinction between 'government' and 'the state'. Government when rightly implemented is a good thing. By rightly implemented I mean to protect citizens life, liberty and property, to preserve order and justice. The State occurs when government grows beyond these functions and becomes an instrument of injustice and tyranny. This is what we should criticize and oppose and work to 'roll back'. The state colludes with business interests in crony capitalism but a just government would not.

Corporate fascism I think it is also called....Like Mussolinis.

Lack of any sort of lending standards is what caused a lot of the problems. There was no accountability. If I am a mortgage broker in California, do I care about making a good loan? Absolutely not. I write the loan, and get my commission. (first place where the loan risk is transferred) My company doesn't hold the asset on our balance sheet. We sell them to the big investment banks. (second place the risk is transferred) Well those guys don't want to hold the loans either. Who the hell wants subprime loans? So the banks packaged a bunch of those crap loans with a bunch of okay loans, and some good loans and called it a Residential Mortgage Backed Security ("RMBS"). Since I put a couple good loans with a bunch of garbage, I can get a rating agency to put a AAA stamp on it --- especially easy when a bond insurance agency (AMBAC/FGIC) rubber stamps a AAA insurance tag on it. Now I have this fancy RMBS that I sell to giant pension funds or municipal funds in Norway and say that they're going to get a great rate of return on it (third transfer of risk).

And now unfortunately, we're seeing that people just aren't sending in payments. No one has any clue what's packaged in what as those documents creating a RMBS is about 8,000 pages. Everyone freaks out, because who the hell knows what the thing is actually worth?

And here we are today.

Best post on the thread........

You understand what is happening.......

When the derivatives unwind.....the SHTF......Don't say no one warned you if you are reading this......

Good song. :)

Yeah no, I know Mortgage Brokers that also fell pray to these arms. Everyone thought we were on a tare and there was no end in sight. So you can't paint people with such a broad brush. Stupid comes from all walks of live, even those within the industry itself as stupid a statement as that is.

Ive come to the conclusion that americans are generally stupid and have VERY short memories. This same thing happened during the dot com boom and bust in the late 90s/early 2000s. Lots of money went from the rich to the not rich then when the bubble burst back to the rich, at interest of some sort. Its a cycle that keeps getting milked over and over and americans still fall for it every time. The only difference is what will boom and bust next.
