SHOCKING AUDIO: Philadelphia Police violate rights of open carrier at gunpoint

you can also use "Qik". It takes video/audio and streams it online instantly. You can set it to post to youtube automatically too. This way if they confiscate and erase your phone, it's too late for them.

Looks like that directive 137 encourages cops to stop law abiding citizens even though an earlier part of the directive says the mere display of a firearm isn't grounds to stop and ID. The directive contradicts itself!

I see in the information that NateforLiberty provided (on page 2) that obscene language is not permitted (By citizens who open carry). Why then is officer #2 allowed to use the F***K word so liberally?

I honestly was offended.

I can read just about anything that members write here, but somehow it's different coming from an officer's mouth.

Offense defined. -- A person is guilty of disorderly conduct if, with intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly creating a risk thereof, he:
engages in fighting or threatening, or in violent or tumultuous behavior;
makes unreasonable noise;
uses obscene language, or makes an obscene gesture; or
creates a hazardous or physically offensive condition by any act which serves no legitimate purpose of the actor.

This is the first I've heard of Qik, but I hope word about it gets around. That could turn out to be an extremely useful tool for exposing abusive policing.

It reminds me of that incident in St. Louis a few years ago where a pig threatened a young driver with trumped-up charges, all because the kid dared to ask what moving violation he had committed:

http://copwatch.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=22768&perpage=20&pagenumber=1

After throwing all kinds of abuse and threats at the driver for no good reason, the psychopathic thug got a big surprise:

Officer #1: What are you doin with a camera hooked to your car seat?
Brett: I have lots of cameras in my car.
Officer #1: Why is that?
Brett: And they upload to secure sources
Officer #1: Okay. I don’t really care about your secure sources. I’ve got one in my car. See that?
Brett: Okay.
Officer #1: It’s a secure source.
Brett: Okay.
Officer #1: I really don’t care about your camera system (then why did you ask?) cause I’m about ready to tow your car. Then we can tear them all apart..
Brett: Oh well, it doesn’t matter. The videos not even in here.

Officer #1: Okay, it doesn’t matter, I really don’t care about your video (once again, why did ask?)
Brett: I’m sure the news will like it.
Oops! LOL

Qik isn't supported on every phone. My phone isn't in their supported list and it's a common Samsung thru Verizon. Pretty much only Android and other smart phones.

heres a question that gets me going.

why can a cop shoot someone for just pointing a gun at them? if its ok for a cop to do it can i shoot a cop for pointing a gun at me?

When I was a kid, I thought of cops as the good guys. Those days are long gone. Now I think of them as an occupying army with no more respect for the rights of Americans than a Chinese army would have if it were occupying the US.

This is a great point, and one I use to dismantle the whole argument of needing a "national defense". Maybe letting the Chinese run the U.S. govt would result in better services, less abuses, and more prosperity? Why do I have to pay to defend these jack-boots from having to answer to a different boss?

But as long as the "Stars and Stripes" is flown, the majority of people will tacitly accept that their masters are the best masters, and will gladly support the goons that secure the tyranny.

depends on the state and if he was justitifed id imagine...in GA you still have the Right to resist an unlawful arrest

Man, what a brave guy. I don't think there is anything more dangerous than accessing your rights in front of armed and ignorant police officers. This is also a good reason for people to carry recording devices.
