Yes, this is a total puff piece. A good example, when they cover the TTC, one of my major issues with Perry, they conclude: "Unlike the current administration in Washington, Rick Perry heard the people and backed off."
Is this to say that Rick Perry was surprised that Texans didn't want 500,000+ acres of their land force-able taken from them? Does the author realize how much hardship people went through because of the proposal? Many spent countless hours and a lot of money fighting to keep their land- not to mention lost sleep, major stress and the like over the situation. Others, who were trying to sell their land, couldn't find a buyer due to all of the unknowns. But since Perry "backed off" then is that suppose to make everything OK? Under what principles was Rick Perry operating under during this time when he caused all this hardship?
And Rick Perry says he wants to get the government off our backs? Really? How does threatening to take 1000's of homes, farms and ranches fit this position? IMO, Rick Perry's words sound like the epitome of dishonestly.
