He is no Rand Paul, but the guy votes 90% up there with the Paul boys. I am glad to have him as a senator of alabama :

“Diamond is an old-fashioned big government Keynesian,” Shelby said.

I consider Shelby a confused Republican who has seen the light from Rand Paul. The other day Rand Paul commended "the senator from Alabama" on CSPAN :)

E-mail Shelby to thank him, and ask him to vote AGAINST the patriot act, or at least what it stands for now.

i told my wife, as a #1 issue to look at when voting for our new leaders....DID THEY VOTE YES FOR THE BAILOUTS?? If the answer is yes, they are immediately off the list. He may vote 90% of the time one way, but that 10% has been pretty hefty to taxpayer dollars.

Shelby seems alot like Chambliss and Isakson

sometimes they get it right but most of the time they don't. Now Paul Broun, my congressman GA 10, does seem to be getting it

Very true....a lot of votes end up with Ron Paul, Justin Amash, and Paul Broun on the losing end of a lopsided vote. There are others who have been in Congress who have come more towards Ron's positions on civil liberties....Walter Jones and Jimmy Duncan come to mind.

Read above :).. He voted before he saw the light. He hasn't voted wrong since TARP. He never used to talk about Keynesianism, I think he is catching on.

He's a Democrat that got the $#!+ scared out of him in the 90s, saw the tide turning, and jumped on the GOP bandwagon. I believe he's 'seen the light' about as much as I trust Beck.
