This is a perfect opportunity to remind people that the State's policing of
malum in se offenses is ultimately only a fig leaf for the State's administration of so-called "justice".
Violent felons (muggers, rapists, murderers, etc.) are not a significant threat or danger to the State. In the State's eyes, Stewart Rhodes did something much worse and far more dangerous than any mere "violent felon" could ever even hope to do. He willfully and defiantly intruded upon the sacred precincts of the State's
Holy of Holies. Such transgressions simply cannot be tolerated or allowed to go unanswered, and they require that harsh examples be made of the transgressors.
Muggers, rapists, and murderers, though? Not so much.
