Regardless, Paul's ad suck and they need to cut the excessive art from it.
We need to have people hear him speak.
I couldn't agree more.
In my mind, the most effective commercial would consist of a clip of Dr. Paul speaking on the floor of the house. Towards the middle the words "Ron Paul, House Floor 19XX" would be displayed across the bottom of the screen. At the end Dr. Paul’s more recently recorded voice says, "I'm Ron Paul. I've been protecting our liberty for over 20 years and I support this message."
In South Carolina, the clip might be from his speech about the coming recession he made in the mid 80's that predicted the recession that came a short time later. In other states, the clips could be taken to address an issue that tends to be of high importance to the individuals there. As many different compelling clips as can be pulled. Turn em all into commercials and then air the hell out of those suckers.
I'd never heard of Dr. Paul. Then one night after work, I turned on the tv and found out the debate was airing. I started to turn the channel but thought I'd wait a minute to see what kind of scum had risen to the top this time. I was just lucky enough that the next person to speak was Dr. Paul. I heard the man speak for 20 seconds and I was hooked.
The difference between "us" and "them" is that we believe individuals are thinking creatures.. Rational and able to best decide for themselves about anything around them. The collectivists believe the opposite. People are as sheep, all similar with identical needs and a herd mentality, so you treat them that way.
Show them sappy commercials that appeal to some aesthetic or emotional aspect of an issue. Conjure a mood with music and setting and then deliver the bullet point message.
I'm afraid that who ever is in charge of the PR for Dr. Paul’s campaign may have bought into this as well. He may have learned it at university. However, the notion that only this type of propaganda can appeal to people is false.
It actually does nothing. Sure, if you give the viewer a good feeling they may begin to like you, but it is shallow. The next candidate that strikes the right emotional chord will win their affection. It is only by attaching their thinking mind to an idea that you have their true support.
This is why the supporters of Dr. Paul are so avid; our minds are connected to the ideas shared by Dr. Paul. We recognize the truth of those ideas by reason and logic and our own good faculties. How we feel about something has nothing to do with the reality of that something. We can't be swayed to another candidate by their touchy feel good patriotic ads even if it has all the right buzz words. We've heard the truth and so can now recognize the lie.
If a commercial, as I described above, is played the level of support for Dr. Paul will rise in direct correlation with the number of people who view or hear it. Put that in the bank.
Put his voice out there. All any one needs is to hear the words to recognize truth.
