No irony here, I am not saying it should be a federal offense but when there is clear evidence that someone used the shouting for fire in a crowded theatre to cause harm, I have no problem with the injured party to go after said person. In this case, they probably shouted gun to get rid of someone who opposed their fav political candidate which then cost the panic that ensued.
By all means throw the books at him.
Hearing rumors that the protestors friend was actually the guy who yelled "gun," which is certainly possible.
