I support the idea of seccesion when the "union" becomes intolerable tyranny. But I wonder how effective it can possibly be unless the governors and/or other influential people of these states are behind the effort. I'm having a very hard time seeing how groups of a few thousand regular citizens would be able to force a state to secede.

This sounds weird but it could be that the only way to save the country is to break it up into a "union" of states.
