Sean Penn mentions Federal Reserve & "our monetary system" on Real Time.

A commie like Penn should support the Fed and their ability to tax secretly and redistribute.

I saw this last night. Sean Penn is a true moron. I don't know wtf he's talking about when says 80% of the people in a place like Venezuela have a chance (or whatever the hell he said). The place is an absolute shit hole where nobody has a chance. All one needs to do is search theync.com (NOT SAFE FOR WORK) for Venezuela to see what it's really like there.

Yeah, and after a quick check, NOT for the queezy and definitely NOT when children are around (i suggest you add that in your post). Not sure who is so interested in this stuff that they put together a whole site about. Deeply sickening. No warning page on the site either. Total nutcases.

Sean Penn...ugh. I hate the uber-patriots, but Penn's flamboyant anti-American stance bothers the hell out of me.

As Penn says, a democratically elected dictator.

So was Hitler. Doesn't make a difference.

I refuse to watch any of the Penn junk. The guy is a total bipolar freak just like Beck..

Respect the work Penn puts in around the world during crisis but, his views are whacked.

it's amazing how we posters bash this guy for his different political orientation rather than applauding the fact that we can find common ground when it comes to making the Fed responsible for the economic situation we are in.

i agree. why not support anti-war folks and pro-fuck-the-fed guys on these subjects? Penn is probably anti-drug-war as well. that's a lot we have in common with him that we don't have in common with much of the republican establishment. i'm not sure bashing him for his socialistic desires does us any good when there arguably is much most of us share with him.

i still say that if we are to win a national election we need to find common ground with those that - for whatever reason - consider themselves Ds and bring them over from the dark-side. Rs will vote for an R no matter if its Dahmer, Perry, Tiger Woods, or any other cloudy figure. we need Ds to a) see that there is no difference in parties, and b) feel motivated to "vote for change" again.

btw - the video is no longer available, what did he say?

Venezuela is not a shit hole. They are in a screwed up situation of having a "strong man" in place. Of all the countries in south america it has one of the highest per capita GDP.

So, compared to first world nations, yeah it could be considered a shithole... but compared to all of the other countries in S. America it is relatively good.

Venezuela
Venezuela is among the most violent places in Latin America, and critics of President Hugo Chávez are increasingly accusing him of failing to make crime a priority.[who?] Class tension has long been a part of life in the South American country, where armed robberies, carjackings and kidnappings are frequent. There were 9 402 homicides reported in 2005, down slightly from 2004, according to government statistics.[citation needed] Some experts argue the real figure is higher.[who?] Venezuela's murder rate ranked third in Latin America in a recent report by the Pan American Health Organization, behind Colombia and El Salvador. The ranking used 2001-to-2003 figures and showed Venezuela just ahead of Brazil.[12] Crime rates are higher in 'barrios' or 'ranchitos' (slum areas) after dark. Motorists have been robbed after stopping to assess damage caused by objects thrown from a bridge or overpass. Petty crime such as pick-pocketing is prevalent, particularly on public transport in Caracas.[citation needed]"

I'm all set with Venezuela. I don't care what their GDP is, you couldn't pay me to visit there.

I kind of thought Penn was going to "go there" as far as the Fed is concerned, but then he went on some socialist "lets meddle some more" diatribe.

Only people who want to end the fed are still remembering a single word of what he said.
