Scott Walker: Media was going to crown Carly Fiorina GOP debate winner no matter what

I agree with him entirely, the media did everything they could to pump up support for her. She was being showered with praise while she was polling in Jindal territory.

Carly Fiorina was always going to win last night's debate, griped rival Scott Walker, whose own performance at last night's Republican debate was panned by political pundits.

'I think going in, we knew the narrative, no matter what was going to happen, was that they were going to say Carly had a big night, no matter what, and obviously they said that,' Walker said Thursday on Glenn Beck's radio show, blaming the political media for making the call and crowning Fiorina the winner.

While the Wisconsin governor had once been considered a top-tier GOP pick, Fiorina was among the pack's longshots, though has been surging in the polls in recent weeks.

So much, in fact, that the original debate rules would have kept Fiorina off stage, as CNN was averaging polls taken before the first debate, when she was relatively unknown, and up until the second to establish eligibility.

However, as the network explained, not enough polls were taken between the two debates and so Fiorina's bounce – inspired by her 'win' at the first kids' table debate – wouldn't be enough to propel her onto the big kids' stage.

Fiorina's campaign complained and even had supporters sign a petition, and so CNN changed the rules, allowing the inclusion of the former Hewlett-Packard as debate participant No. 11.

The only female Republican candidate provided some of the biggest moments of the night.

She ripped Planned Parenthood, gave her plan for Iran, talked about her step-daughter's death from drug addiction, in one of the debate's more somber moments, and gave a blank-faced stare to Donald Trump when he complimented her looks.

Sour grapes IMO.

Carly earned attention and respect by being a debate ninja and pwning Trump. She gave the masses plenty of red meat.

Someone please photoshop Carly's face here:

Including Trump opening - surprise attack at Rand and the "shouldn't be on stage" remark (which btw was the news line in the media for the first hour) could all have been staged, possibly for initial Nielsen ratings game.

Let's face it, CNN changed the rules for eligibility to get an ex-Hewlett-Packhard executive candidate onstage, with the reality star to attack a Senator - who is on the Foreign Relations Committee with an Iran deal vote and foreign relations philosophy that co-sponsor Reagan Foundation wants to hear, as well as the international audience -
about eligibility and the 11th spot.

Carly shaking her head while Rand spoke . . . after bold statements how she wouldn't talk to Putin.
What a disgrace to the USA that ex-HP Carly Fiorna really is.

That's how it will be painted. Trump calls Fox out and the media is all over it. Walker calls out the whole media monolith--not just one wing of it--and points out how no matter how different this one and that one sounds, they're saying the exact same thing, and he's setting himself up for the honor of being a He Who Must Not Be Named.

This is a very good sign. If the neocons start fighting over who gets to be the Big Dog, instead of playing the game and being happy that they get much more than just table scraps out of the deal, that will bode very well for liberty. We can use that.

This is the truest, most honest thing Walker has ever publicly said, and we should treat it as such. Better we use his comments to expose this garbage than wait until Rand is forced to say it himself.

The thing I don't get is that yes, Fiorina said all the right things, but both her and Rubio sound like soul-less robots programmed by their masters. They totally lacked authenticity. If the pundits were being fair, they would actually factor that in. I can't imagine many Americans watching the debate came away feeling impressed with them.

IMO the only people who come across as not being robots are Rand, Huckabee, Christie, Trump, and maybe Jeb to a degree.

Walker totally got the shaft from CNN and the establishment as of late. I guess he served his purpose and they are done with him. Either that or he broke one of their commandments.

Walker's views on immigration probably put him in hot water with the Chamber of Commerce, I'd count that as breaking a commandment.

Walker was running as the alternative to Bush, his strategy is to take Iowa and some of the Santorum 2012 states while talking as little as possible. But to do that will require the same donor base that supported him in the recall. Those people are not going to come out for him if he doesn't have Iowa on lock, which he did for over a year. Now, not so much, and he will run out of money, which he will now need more than ever to stay competitive in Iowa.
