Anyone think he missed a great opportunity to slam the concept of ID cards? Still, fantastic debate. Made them look like the childish panderers they are. :D

I voted 2. Some of the people have been hitting the pipe too much. RP was stumbling all over again. He sounded whiny, not commanding. He let some of the slams go without rebuttal.

Campaign staff needs to work with RP to improve his delivery. They also need to play devil's advocate for him, and throw him some of these stupid off the wall questions....and RP needs to come back at the bastards in Morton Downey fashion.

Call me a troll, if you like, but I've donated $1K. I'd like to know my chosen candidate isn't going to go down in flames.

Let me first preface this with the fact that I'm a huge Ron Paul supporter...

Let's not kid ourselves entirely here...I think Ron Paul did very well and made some good points, but I think he hurt himself early on the "did the Navy Captain make the right decision" question. I'm closely affiliated with the military and his first response should have been that he would not second-guess Commanders on the ground.

Contrastingly, I think he made an OUTSTANDING point by comparing it to the Gulf of Tonkin incident in Vietnam. Unfortunately, our guy can't debate quite as well as I'd like to see...he wasn't able to respond well enough to the Faux News Reporters challenging him...Faux News had things prepped to set him up for failure, and he just didn't respond as well as he could have. His mind just runs a little faster than his mouth can.

Where he blew everyone away was his talk on tieing so many things to Economics that the other candidates just either pandered to or sidestepped. This is exactly where he'll continue to convert people as the economy plummets.

Watching RP tonight was like watching Mozart at the orchestra! I rue the day I was ever a doubting Thomas. I'm a freakin believer!

My brother, a Libertarian for the past 25 years or so said Paul didn't seem "Presidential" and that it was not his best performance. I have yet to see it so I can't saay for myself. I agree about the presidential part, but I've know that for a long time.

While its not going to do any good for people passively watching the debates, I don't put it past Fox to turn down his earpiece so he didn't hear the question at all - and thus he interpreted the question based on the responses of others.

the part that really depressed me was the laughing.. i just sat in front of tv, frozen. overall, he did okay.

I gave RON a 10!

I guess they are waiting to interview Ron last.
Since he was the winner and all:D

Ok, sure he was a bit fumbly here and there, the messages were strong, impassioned, and spot on, but, I may be a bit biased. 10000!

My heart was pounding the entire time, and now I'm just shaking with excitement.

How anyone cannot see through the flimsy cardboard arguements of the other men on that stage would be beyond me. Man, I can't believe I'm so worked up over politics! What a rush!

....and I certainly agree with that!

My biggest concern. In being excluded from the last Faux News debate, RP got a tremendous amount of goodwill from Leno, NH GOP, and numerous others. He should have brought his absolute best game to this debate to prove that they were wrong.

His answers were great, and he showed fire, but I'm biased. Looking at what sells, I have to take off points for mannerisms. And he should have insisted on speaking to some of those snickering shots the others sent his way.

Ron did pretty good. In general I think he needs to slow down and be more deliberate in what he says, especially when campaigning down South. He started to show some fire tonight. He needs to show even more. I recommend he spend the weekend watching some John Wayne movies. Sad as it is many people like Bush, despite acknowledging his many, many flaws, because of his 'cowboy' attitude. Bush exudes alot of confidence. I'm not saying Ron should be full of false bravado. But to win over the Republicans who are currently supporting the other guys he needs to add some toughness to his presentation.

Tell your friend that Thomas Jefferson did not seem very presidential either, plus he was a horrible public speaker. Ideas are what matter, your libertarian friend of all people should know that.
