Let's not kid ourselves entirely here...I think Ron Paul did very well and made some good points, but I think he hurt himself early on the "did the Navy Captain make the right decision" question. I'm closely affiliated with the military and his first response should have been that he would not second-guess Commanders on the ground.
While its not going to do any good for people passively watching the debates, I don't put it past Fox to turn down his earpiece so he didn't hear the question at all - and thus he interpreted the question based on the responses of others.
yeah, but he shot back with "we made Al Quada", which completely dismantled his argument.
Tell your friend that Thomas Jefferson did not seem very presidential either, plus he was a horrible public speaker. Ideas are what matter, your libertarian friend of all people should know that.My brother, a Libertarian for the past 25 years or so said Paul didn't seem "Presidential" and that it was not his best performance. I have yet to see it so I can't saay for myself. I agree about the presidential part, but I've know that for a long time.
