SC: Cop shoots 70 year old man reaching for walking cane. (video)

Excerpt from the Manual For Dealing With Police:

When a Peace Officer of America's Holy Ministry of Law Enforcement decides to grace you with his or her presence, look down at their boots like a scared puppy and keep your hands on the wheel and talk only when the officer allows it. Remember: you are a mere citizen, and you need to show your hardworking Friendly Neighborhood Peace Officer the utmost respect and obedience like a good little convict-in-training.

The Penguin had a knife on the end of his umbrella, this old geezer was a stab-a-thon just waiting to happen.

And jesus, I just watched the video. A LOT of time passes from when the old guy opens the door to get out and to when Officer Nobleman lights him up. He was walking slowly, you know, like an old man does. I would think if you're going to open fire on a cop during a traffic stop you'd be a little more urgent with your actions. But what the fuck do I know, I don't have a badge.

Cops murder 70 y/o mundane for grabbing his cane at traffic stop

Lesson-comply or die, even if it causes you to do something that causes you serious injury.

What I take away from this is that older folks like the driver just don't understand how the police have changed since the last time he probably encountered a cop during a traffic stop. Officer Friendly doesn't come out to talk to you about your violation, write you a cite, then shake your hand and bid you a safe night. He's a 24 year old that just got back from Afghanistan and has been told that his safety is paramount over everyone else's, trained on No Hesitation targets and told to shoot first and ask questions later.

^This. It's almost like police are encouraged to be trigger happy now. And this cop clearly felt deep remorse for his error. It's just all around a really bad deal.

Anyone heard the recommendation from the police to make a law for Mandatory Manual on what mundanes need to do when stopped by police?

Almost?

No almost about it.

We've documented the training, the reasoning and the source of the Circular Force Continuum, shootings like this are a direct result of its implementation.

Getting out of the car is probably one of the worst things you can do, besides run. It makes cops jumpy and sometimes draw their weapon. That cop will probably get fired for running up and apologizing to the guy, because it all but guarantees them to lose a lawsuit.

SC deputy cried after shooting 70-year-old man

YORK, S.C. —

A South Carolina deputy who during a traffic stop shot a 70-year-old man reaching for his cane broke down in tears as other officers arrived.

The York County sheriff's office on Wednesday released dashboard camera video of last month's stop. It shows Bobby Canipe (kah-NYP') of Lincolnton, N.C., getting out of his truck and reaching for a cane on a dark highway.

Deputy Terrance Knox yells "Sir" a few times and Canipe keeps moving. When he reaches in the bed and gets the cane, Knox yells "whoa" and starts shooting. Knox then almost as quickly seems to realize Canipe had a cane, then cursed and rushed to help.

Sheriff Bruce Bryant says after watching the video he still thinks the officer did the right thing.

The shooting is being investigated.

Honestly, if police stop me. I will not do anything that might result in them getting the excuse to shoot me. Don't reach for anything, don't move and always assume the position. Not only do you endanger yourself, you can endanger your love ones and innocent bystanders if the cop thinks you are a threat.

There is nothing romantic about disobeying cops (because they have a badge and a gun and just-us) for these kind of stops.

I might take a bit of flak from this, but you will die while the cop will most likely walk or even get the same job elsewhere. Then no more Ron Paul 2016 fans :p...

There will be a time for civil disobedience... but probably not the best time to do it without many witnesses.
