RickSantorum.com said:
Current federal “obscenity” laws prohibit distribution of hardcore (obscene) pornography on the Internet, on cable/satellite TV, on hotel/motel TV, in retail shops and through the mail or by common carrier. Rick Santorum believes that federal obscenity laws should be vigorously enforced. “If elected President, I will appoint an Attorney General who will do so.”

The Obama Administration has turned a blind eye to those who wish to preserve our culture from the scourge of pornography and has refused to enforce obscenity laws. While the Obama Department of Justice seems to favor pornographers over children and families, that will change under a Santorum Administration.

YEAH let's push porn underground. You'll have more people with aids, more child pornography and more criminal involvement, but who cares, right? Because now consenting adults won't be able to watch OTHER consenting adults in motel rooms! WIN/WIN!!!

And now we know why Santorum is so gungho with the idea. I mean, the elite have to go somewhere else now that Sandusky has been shutdown.

He literally wants a "war on pornography."

Ok, so now I'm picturing myself driving north on I-83 in Maryland, for example, and I notice the big "Welcome to Pennsylvania" sign, and there's a man and woman under it, the man with his feet in Maryland and the woman with her hands and knees in Pennsylvania and film crew on various sides, because that's about the only way I can figure internet porn can have anything to do with interstate commerce.

Does anyone know which laws he is talking about? He says there are already laws against pornography that aren't being enforced?

Is this true?

We should enforce existing laws, if they in fact do exist. Pornography is a terrible scourge on the country, but I don't see it being enforceable to ban it. Personally I would love for it to be completely banned, but politically, I don't want the Federal government to have that kind of power.

When you say you want to "ban" pornography, do you mean you want it to not exist because people no longer demand it, or you want to use violence against non-violent citizens?

I don't think Jesus would approve of using violence against non-violent people. Seems very un-Christian to me. Jesus went around and preached to people and tried to persuade them to follow the gospel that way.

Satan was the one who wanted to force everybody not to sin so everybody could get into heaven.

People who want to ban pornography I think have a strong Satanic element in their hearts.

Once again, how does banning pornography (one of the countries only booming industries) help improve our economy?

This is another example of Rick Santorum focusing on stupid, pointless issues that nobody cares about.

It's about time someone put us in our place and got this whole "freedom of speech/expression" thing under control. Hopefully he will also push Congress to pass a law that married adults must have the light turned off before undressing in front of one another. It's just blatant obscenity in the private homes of American citizens. It's dangerous to let "the people" have too much freedom. They might just take over.

"But it's for the children!"

The perfect way to force SOPA down America's throat.

Attempting to outlaw pornography would probably mean more of it. Just like per capita more Americans smoke marijuana than their counterparts in Amsterdam (where it's legal).
