Say good-bye, Grinch....

If Newt drops out, most of his voters go to Santorum. That opens the door for him and RP to team up and bash Romney and hopefully get him out of this race. If we can't beat Santorum one-on-one, we don't deserve to win the nomination.

Santy is the Anti-Ron Paul. I don't see the merit in beating him. Two totally opposite animals.

I think Newt will do great in Alabama and MS. Being from "down there" matters.

Santorum will probably do well there too. While Santorum, like Romney, represents the Northeast, he isn't Northeast stereotype--he looks grassroots. He may not be but he has that appearance. That is why he just took OK.

In my opinion.

Rachel Maddow did a feature on why Newt might be staying. Basically, she joked that his billionaire was Mitt's millionaire and suggested that a condition of him staying in the race was not to attack Mitt Romney. I doubt Newt is going anywhere.

Oh and that was a horrible speech yet.

To the average Joe that is bleeding cash due to the high price of gasoline and does not understand the complexities of the issue it was an excellent speech.

Ron is doing this now but may have won some primaries if he had just kept talking about the economy and the price of gas like he had in the past rather than let the media frame him in the Iran box.

Romney will NOT leave this race. Period.

What we need at this point is for each candidate to stay in. Newt needs to win in the south, Rick will take the midwest, and Romney the Northeast/Far West. If Rick/Newt drop out, Romney will sweep us in every state I can guarantee you that (other than states like SD and Island territories). If we have any shot, they all need to win some.

The President has NO power over the price of gasoline. He's blowing smoke.

Looks like things are going our way, then.

He left in February in 2008. He doesn't have a history of gutting things out. His support has always been lukewarm, and I believe he's only getting that support because because he's been dubbed the presumptive nominee. Some people just like to vote for the perceived winner.

And where does Ron Paul win? With these other guys in, RP doesn't get a chance to make his case. Things will continue as they have been.

If BOTH of them drop out, sure, I agree. Because we haven't done much if anything to slow Romney down. We should change that tomorrow.
