Bringing up Hitler/Saddam reminded me of a WW2 documentary I was watching just the other night... part of the Apocalypse series on History Channel. Anyway I made mental note of one part when the show was discussing Hitler vs France. Because of his threats and actions against Poland etc etc, France declared war on Germany first and Hitler used that to push his troops even harder, like 'See? France declared war on us! Go get 'em!!!'.... it made me think about how so many people think war should be declared on Iran (or wait, just to move on Iran without declaring war officially, as seems to be the custom these days). Then Iran really will have an excuse to let loose anything it might have in it's pockets and all they have to do is like Hitler did with his troops - say 'The US/Europe/Canada etc has moved upon us! Go get 'em'... and off we go. In the documentary they were showing all of the many many many years of clever moves Hitler made to try to get to his end goal and how everyone else fell right into his plans. It just rang a bell in my head for this current situation.
