Sarah Palin Gives Thumbs Up To Chick-fil-A

Substitute appropriate words for bestiality, incest, pedophilia etc in the above to see how silly the argument really is. Lots of people are involved in lifestyles that may or may not have a genetic component.

And? If someone wants to screw a cactus in their house it doesn't matter to me. As long as they aren't raping anything I couldnt care less who they bed or wed.

The argument from Christians is that gay is a lifestyle choice but I would argue that we have no control over who we are attracted to sexually so there really is no choice except to choose to follow society's norms vs choosing to love who you are attracted to.

I like tan, busty, slim brunettes. I know guys who like blondes. I disapprove of that lifestyle.

Using this logic, there should be no condemnation for people who are attracted to young children. After all, you can't help who you're attracted to, right?

But you do have a choice of behavior and which attractions you act upon. Alcoholics in recovery choose to not drink even though they are attracted to it.
If something does not hurt you or someone else wouldn't you act upon it?

And if the state wants to let them have a civil union with those things, more power to them. Marriage is between a man and a woman and the state shouldn't have anything to do with it. The state should only be able to grant civil unions at the most. Marriage is something that is between a man, woman and God.

I don't think most here care either; but it doesn't mean they want to expand govt benefits to include cactus-diddlers either.

It looks like you have been brainwashed by homosexual propaganda, like most people. Not only are the numbers of homosexuals vastly overrated (and overrepresented in popular culture), there are people who come out of a homosexual lifestyle every single day. Every single day.

No, you've been brainwashed by anti-homosexual propaganda. I've known a lot of BOTH gay people and bi-sexuals. Most people who are LGBT are B (Bi). People who are bi may prefer one sex over another, it may be their own or the opposite sex, or they may prefer both approximately equally but for different reasons. They can be attracted to both men and women, but they still can't CHOOSE WHO they become attracted to and who they fall in love with. So depending on their circumstances, they may only meet a person or people of a specific sex who they are attracted to and who are attracted to them to have relationships with.

Then there is a completely different set of people who you are completely neglecting with your theories. These are people who are GAY and have no choice and are NOT attracted to the opposite sex. Period. I know these people exist because I've met them and because I'm straight and am not attracted to other guys. Period. It's like the opposite of being gay. If God commanded that I was attracted to other men otherwise I go to hell, I'd have to go to hell. So I have an easier time relating to gay people who aren't attracted to the opposite sex at all, because I'm not attracted to the same sex at all. So is it that you have attractions towards both sexes and so you think people can choose, or are you just repeating what you've been told?

Gay people can certainly refrain from expressing their natural desires. But why in the hell should they be forced to do so?

I give this a thumbs up.

No, I don't act upon every impulse even if it doesn't hurt me or anyone. Also "hurt" is subjective.

So something you want, something that will make you happy, something that hurts no one and has no negative consequences..... you go don't pursue it? Your life must be boring.

most of what you just said is subjective. yes, boring, very much so, maybe I'll go screw a dog in the backyard, that will spice things up and hurt nobody.

Wasn't the point of saying "alkys want a drink and don't go for one" a jab at silly gay people for not being able to refrain from the gayness?

Nope. I wouldn't jab. And you can't force alcoholics to stay sober either, they have to choose to do so themselves.

1. How does this question relate to what you quoted?
2. Why do you keep saying "silly gay"?
