Sarah Palin Gives Thumbs Up To Chick-fil-A

we need a new regulation -- all businesses, associations, buildings, etc., public and private must visibly post their political affiliations prominently outside their door.

j/k;)

Every politician in the Religious Right and Socially Liberal Left would probably love that idea.

Focus on the Family type groups are constantly trying to restrict free speech and activities to fit their agenda. It's rampant. Each side is guilty of pathetic thought-policing.

yep, sadly, everyone's working to grow government to their own advantage instead of taking a step back and realizing that more gov't forcing people to do things isn't gonna help anything.

There's a difference between having the right to think bigoted things, and celebrating those who think bigoted things, though. What many in the right have done is not just defend a person's right to think as he chooses, they've managed to actually turn the argument away from that winnable stance to an untenable, pathetic, lambasting of the "homosexual agenda" of whatever the ridiculous among the Republicans are calling it today.

To get to the bottom of this, just entertain one question:

If Chik Fil A had a major change of heart and decided to say "Jesus is a big doodyhead! Let's all go gay!" ....how do you think these Republicans would act? What do you think Liberals would do?

It's no stretch to say that the roles would be completely reversed. This isn't a principled issue on free expression --- it's a vehicle for each side to push it's agenda, and lobby for state-power to act on its behalf.

FWIW, what the heck did liberals think they'd hear when they asked a man so dedicated to the Bible that he refuses to make money on Sundays? Of course he's going to be anti-gay. ....but what does that have to do with anything? It's about as relevant as Hank Williams Jr.'s critique of Obama's job performance.

The left is playing the same game. Two to tango.

Question -- where are the libertarian voices?

BTW, I disagree that Sarah thinks Chik-fil-a or Cathy are bigoted in any way, therefore your opening statement is, um, some kinda logical fallacy?

Which only goes to show the genius of the line Paul frequently speaks -- we can only guarantee our own Liberty, if we uphold that of our neighbors as well.

Each side needs to realize that disagreement is fine, but we need to respect the right that each person has to hold an opinion -- however intolerant, backwards, or illogical it might be. And this notion must be applied to non-violent actions. We've got to let people act as they will, to preserve our right to do the same.

How is that comparable? Did Chic-fil-A say anything remotely like that?

I think Shane was saying that boycotting a business because the owner has a belief you disagree with is stupid. And sure, people have a right to boycott and anti-boycott and do all sorts of stuff.

Yep, everyone is free to boycott. No problem there. People do need to apply some common sense and not get caught up in hysterics and witch-hunts though.

Is boycotting a business based upon an opinion of a CEO reasonable? Probably not, no matter how much propagandists try to create a controversy.

Is boycotting a business based on a sign at the front door that says "XYZ people are not welcome here?" or "God hates XYZ people"? Yes, that sounds like a good reason for a boycott.

This whole controversy is a great argument for repealing the CRA. It's proving Ron's point. What business would be stupid enough to deny service to blacks in 2012?

I like Chick-Fil-A, the sandwich, fries and lemonade all taste great.

As for Christians singling out gays, I do not understand. There are many sins in the bible. Why do they not go after premarital sex? Protest outside of homes of people living out of wedlock. Attack materialism as "coveting thy neighbor's goods".

There are plenty of sins out there. Christians should consider following someone who speaks of forgiving sins.

Ya that never made sense to me.

She looks just like the stripper that is suppose to be a Sarah Palin look alike in Tampa for the convention. I'm thinking she is no look alike, she is Sarah!

She may not be too bright, but she is the best looking politician I have seen in a long time, maybe ever.

This is the reason most liberals despise Sarah Palin. And is the reason you can be assured the first female president of the United States will be a dyke.:toady:

I am surprised that nobody cares that chic-Fil-A gives money to organizations that in turn lobby government to write laws that create an impasse for voluntary association. Granted the government is ultimately the aggressor but your money will still be indirectly used to inhibit human right to associate freely without government intervention.

Yep. The liberal mind is so bent against Christianity that it thinks it has an ally in Islam (because they are against Christianity too). It's hilarious to see Islamic forces and the secular left gang up on expressions of Christianity. Homosexuals have no idea who they are allying with and how bad it really could be.
