The NFL has never gone to the government begging for money because it's got a product that sells.

If the Arts produced something people were willing to buy or donate to, then people would.

Maybe a temporary vacuum is what we need, for people to appreciate the arts and be willing spend their money on it.

Great pianists like Marianna McPartland were awarded things from the NEA

What about all the "great" artists who got NOTHING? The NEA and the related cultural arts system don't create or support artists, they exclude artists. They way they do that is by picking and choosing which artists are politically correct enough to work their way in the system.

What's a great work of "art?" It's whatever the art establishment including the NEA say it is, and that means if you don't tow the line, you don't get in. The NEA is an EXCLUSIONARY entity, not a promotional entity.

hahahaha i never said anything about supporting the politician.....I think it's funny words are put in my mouth.

My argument is there are plenty of other things to worry about funding than the NEA...call me out...say what you want...but simply I never even used the word politician so....you can be angry at the system, politicians whatever you want, but we're having a discussion. throw things like that and you demagogue the conversation

It's one thing to say that defunding the NEA is not a priority, but its a whole other ball game to say the NEA is good, useful, and beneficial. You rationalized the theft by saying you like Jazz, and it funds Jazz musician you like and think contributes therefore we should be taxed to and our property given to these individuals. Who chooses whom to get the money? Politician. You seem to think a politician is wiser than us fools, who have no idea what art, music, or lifestyle to choose on our own. That is the principle you have just endorsed whether you realize it or not. Stop trying to backpeddle now. You've all ready been 'caught'.
