Santorum: Same-Sex Marriage=Polygamy. *Booed in NH* (Santorum About To implode)

"How do we know if someone is getting harmed?"

Really Frothy? Usually the person getting harmed says something like "I don't like that."

What a self-righteous boob. BOOB!

Someone should juxtapose this to what Ron says - basically what everyone in the audience wanted to hear - that government has no responsibility defining what marriage is.

Such a shame that people see no difference between government marriage and religious marriage. The first is basically just a property contract and has a horrible history of eugenics, the other is supposed to have a deep and eternal meaning based on your background/religion. Let the gays have their property contacts, Frothy.

Santorum answered, “Wait, wait, I’m asking her. You said everyone has their right to their own happiness.”
No Dick, you still can't have any underage boys. That would still not be allowed.

If this excites the GOP to love Rick even more I will have fully lost hope in my country.

Didn't theocrats say legalizing inter-racial marriages would lead to legalizing gay marriages back in the day?

Well if you believe the fedgov can legally and morally outlaw polygamy, something even most same-sex marriage supporters agree on, why couldn't they outlaw same-sex marriage (not just not recognize it but make it out right illegal and a jail time offense) morally and legally? Santorum just took the reasoning to its logical end.

Note this doesn't mean he is right, it just exposes the flaw in the argument that government can regulate relationships at all.

It's sad to see he feels his marriage is so fragile he wants to use the power of big government to prohibit others to marry.

augustus caesar used the power of government to get single bachelors in ancient rome to marry and produce heirs

Er, why is polygamy illegal again?

So long as everyone is a consenting adult, I don't see the problem. I, personally, think it's morally wrong and honestly as a single guy I'm hurting myself by standing up for other guys to have 20 wives (I could barely manage the one, I think. And, I suppose, women could have 20 husbands as well so it balances out?). I can't see a reason to ban it aside from the legislation of morality, yet again.

Paul is right, the government has no business having anything to do with marriage. That should be up to churches and individuals. Do you really need a government document to say you are married to someone? Of course not.

The thing about polygamy is.. or homosexual marriage.. or whatever.. Thing is, I mean I'm not religious myself, but at the end of the day, I thought it was up to God to judge what marriage is acceptable and what not? So... if you don't believe in gay marriage and there's a gay married couple... simply... don't consider them married and think they're wrong and if you're so... right in your faith.... you would know that God wouldn't accept their marriage in the first place.. right? So.. the problem fixed itself the moment it happened?

Same with polygamy or someone marrying an object or whatever.

How can you have faith in your God if you think he's not smart enough to to have gotten that covered? And isn't judging in his behalf incredibly arrogant and dare I say.. blasphemous?

There is no actual reason why polygamy should be illegal.

The state should not recognize any marriage though, because state recognition is putting a stamp of approval.

The state should attempt to be as neutral as possible and enforce marriages contracts like any other contracts.

Why would santorum go to a college? Those people were probably tricked in thinking RP was coming :D

It won't be popular in NH, but he was more well spoken in his argument than I would have expected.

I've received my third spam e-mail from Ricky this morning lmao. I hope he keeps wasting his time trying to court Ron Paul voters.
