Sanders: There Will Be A Contested Convention, System Is "Rigged"

By Ian Schwartz
May 2, 2016

Bernie Sanders said the Democratic primary process is a "rigged system" at a campaign event in Evansville, Indiana on Monday. Sanders announced last night at the National Press Club that the Democratic convention will be a contested one.

"When we talk about a rigged system, it's also important to understand how the Democratic Convention works," Sanders said Morning morning. "We have won, at this point, 45 percent of pledged delegates, but we have only earned 7 percent of superdelegates."

Wouldn't that be a switch up DNC contested and the RNC isn't.

To be fair, media owners don't want that to be talked about much.

Judge Valerie Caproni announced the sentence months after the 72-year-old Manhattan Democrat was convicted in a $5 million corruption case

(NEW YORK) — Former New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver was sentenced to 12 years in prison Tuesday, capping one of the steepest falls from grace in the state’s lineup of crooked politicians for a consummate backroom dealer who wielded power for over two decades.
A stern Judge Valerie Caproni announced the sentence months after the 72-year-old Manhattan Democrat was convicted in a $5 million corruption case.
She also imposed a $1.75 million fine and a $5.3 million forfeiture.

The article does not say what the "corruption" was specifically for which he was convicted.

There seems to be lots of it going by news reports and corrupt politicians are not uncommon. It maybe a political art where to look and where ignore.

But this could possibly be political move or result of infighting within swc community - between Obama and Hillary camps.
A news come to mind where Obama's pastor Wright's daughter was arrested for "corruption" soon after the Pastor criticized Obama.

Ironic/interesting that the large GOP field looks decided now but the Dems/Hillary still in a battle sorta - but she's ahead in delegates alot.

I'm not sure who would be worse, Bernie or Hillary.

That's a fine academic question. But they are both horrible. Ever since Sanders killed HR 1207 with his 2011 amendment to the Dodd-Frank bill, his proclaimed ideology cannot be seriously considered. He can only be looked at as a fraud; not a communist ideologue.

Interesting short article contrasting Sanders with "Scandanavian" style socialists (my progressive friends always fawn over Scandanavian socialism):

Looks like Sanders is blaming the DNC for helping Clinton. Perhaps with a new chair, the DNC can consider the problem solved.

I doubt it.

There's more wikileaks to come. Besides,..the damage is done.

Bernie's supporters aren't going to forget just because there's a new DNC chair.

Agreed, how a new DNC Chair is going to go back and fix the election that was just stolen from Bernie's supporters?

If same folks are going to appoint/finance the new DNC chair, new boss probably would be same same as old boss and just as good at rigging elections if not worse.

CPUd, do you think Bernie shoud withdraw his endorsement of Hillary in ptotest of this rigging by DNC in favor of Hillary?

Bernie Sanders is being pressured to disavow his endorsement of Hillary Clinton
