Do you think Russia breaking Georgian Truce is a bad news globally as well as a threat to our National Sovereignty? If Russia has plans to reinstall itself to its old Soviet glory, or plans similar to that?

No, its only bad news for Bush&Co. Why haven't you seen any other presidents speaking out yet? My guess is that they know Georgia has committed genocide in South Ossetia and its just a matter of time before the US looks stupid again like the WMD's in Iraq :D heh....

This isn't Ghost Recon, Russia isn't a military superpower anymore. People like John McCain are still stuck on a Cold War mentality. Everyone acts like Russia is just one big mental institute. They want to establish themselves as an economic giant like their neighbor China.

As for South Ossetia, I might be wrong about this, but my understanding is that Georgia has been mistreating their citizens in South Ossetia because they declared independence and Georgia won't recognize it and is still attempting the rule that province. Russia stepped in supposedly to defend the South Ossetians whether its for "humanitarian purposes" or their interest in South Ossetian oil fields.

How is this any different than the US? We went into Iraq claiming we wanted to free Iraqi's from Hussein's oppressive regime but everyone knows it was only for oil. Russia is jumping on the bandwagon and the US is starting to get on the offensive about it. Russia poses the US no threat at all at the present moment IMHO

Excellent post! Thank You!

Anybody see any comparison to our own War of Northern Aggression? The Confederacy was hoping for foreign aid but it never happened.

Now that I think about it..There's one big difference: S. Ossetia recognizes itself as citizens of Russia while the Confederacy wanted no part of being ruled by another country..

Ok...well, I guess I answered my own question...... :o

On top of that, you have a lot of Russians living in South Ossetia.. And it is truly the will of the people that Russia defend them! It's not like we had a big population of Americans living in Iraq. Russia had way more justification for their attack on Georgia than we did for our in Iraq.

I'm afraid I don't know too much about Russia-Georgia-S. Ossetia relations to make any comparisons.

I feel bad even armchair-quarterbacking this conflict because, well, my government isn't exactly the shining beacon of peace, either.

And South Ossetia is 1/3 Georgian. Do their opinions matter at all?

Only a few RP supporters here even understand the kind of power Russia has and let me tell you we are screwed if we keep steeping on their taill... and Someone needs to shut McCain's cancerous mouth up already and show him this video! Stupid Warmonger!

Russia: Bring it on USA!

I agree that Russia has vast power and I do not want the US to engage Russia. I only wish Georgia the best. :)

Well i have heard from a Russian Broadcast that we are supporting a Genocide by helping Georgia. I find this terrible, I find both parties guilty. Russia trying to establish itself as an economic powerhouse with China as well as USA supporting some genocidal leader.

Until there is more solid proof, I will remain skeptical of any Russian claims.

Personally I think the Russians are trying to make this as close to the events of Kosovo as possible. Payback basically.

And I don't blame them in that regards.

There is solid proof, the MSM just won't show it to you.

Hmmm, Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia, continually warring for borders. Loads of propoganda and nationalism.

This reminds me of something....

What's wrong with Russia being an economic powerhouse?

The scene I've gotten from folks that claim residency to the area; is that, Putin is fighting the NWO. That he is fighting to keep oil profits for Russia, and out of the hands of the Crown Corporation. They are building him up to a warrior status as he does battle with the US the UK and the Rothschild Family for control of Oil transport. They definitely consider the US as, the spear-head of the New World Order.

There is dis-info everywhere, on all sides of it and i believe it all. lol

Some of us had better start believing in the Draft cuz it may be here sooner then you think.
