Russia ready to use nuclear weapons if threatened - army chief

Well, what do you want us to do? It seems like the West (Zionist West) doesn't want to be a friend any more....
At the end of Perestroika Moscow allowed the countries of the Soviet Block to go free and do whatever they please....
Russia agreed to a unification of Germany.
Russia even let former Soviet republics to become independent countries.
Russia closed her military bases in Cuba and Vietman.
And what do we have in return? NATO troops at our borders and anti-Russian propaganda in Western media?

Bush speech stokes row with Kremlin

June 5, 2007

President Bush risked further anger from the Kremlin today when he said that democracy in Russia had suffered under Vladimir Putin's rule.

Just hours before his arrival at the G8 summit in Germany — where proceedings have already been overshadowed by a row over America's plans to install missile interceptors in Eastern Europe — Mr Bush did little to improve the chill in relations between Moscow and the West.

Delivering a prepared speech in the Czech Republic, an erstwhile Soviet satellite that could soon house a US missile tracking facility, Mr Bush listed a number of countries where democracy was partial or where recent freedoms were in danger.

Although he acknowledged that freedom moves "at different speeds in different places", the US President levelled a particular accusation at Mr Putin and Moscow. "In Russia, reforms that once promised to empower citizens have been derailed, with troubling implications for democratic development," he said.

Putin says Russia will not tolerate NATO military build up
20/ 11/ 2007
MOSCOW, November 20 (RIA Novosti) - President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that Russia would not ignore NATO's military build up near its borders and would provide an adequate response to any "muscle-flexing."
"In violation of previous agreements, NATO members' military resources are being built up next to our borders," Putin said at a Defense Ministry meeting with senior military staff. "Certainly, we cannot allow ourselves to remain indifferent to this obvious muscle-flexing."

Russia to respond 'appropriately' to Ukrainian NATO membership

MOSCOW, January 22 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that the country would have to take "appropriate measures" if Ukraine were to join NATO.

A Ukrainian government letter to the NATO chief, setting out the country's bid to join an action plan to gain membership of the Western military alliance, was published in Kiev last week.

"Ukraine's possible integration into NATO will exacerbate Russian-Ukrainian relations in many areas. We will have to take appropriate measures in response," the ministry said.

In particularly strident language, although not marking a change from earlier stated policies, the Chief of the Russian General Staff, Gen. Yury Baluyevsky, told a conference at the Academy of Military Sciences in Moscow on Saturday that: "the Armed Forces will be used to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Russia and its allies, including preventative action, and including the use of nuclear weapons."

American imperialism certainly does have a way of pissing people off, doesn't it?

MOSCOW, January 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's top military commander said on Saturday that the country is prepared to use its nuclear weapons to defend itself and allies in the event of a severe external threat.

The Chief of the Russian General Staff, Gen. Yury Baluyevsky, told a conference at the Academy of Military Sciences in Moscow: "We do not intend to attack anyone, but consider it necessary that all our partners clearly understand, and that no one has any doubts, that the Armed Forces will be used to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Russia and its allies, including preventative action, and including the use of nuclear weapons."

Ummm, I thought Russia and Iran are close trading partners? Does'nt Russia get most of its oil from them?

I think this is, in fact, a subtle warning to US, to not attack Iran.

Anyone who honestly believes that Russia AND China will just sit by and do nothing if - no- WHEN, we attack Iran, is living with their heads in the clouds.

Well hopefully Russia will stay away from pre-emptive war and not follow the example of other nations who embark on it.

Honestly, I cann`t imagen Russia to start any pre-emptive war in larger regions at the moment. They fase so many problems in keeping rest off it, it goes to Caucasus, Tatarstan, some north regions, even Siberia..They are broke, military corrupt, and so on. Donn`t forget they also in election fazes and I rate it like another should say cheap " comment", as it to be sounded like that "they could use nuke, to maintane and protect their own integrity".

Russia doesn't want to go to war, but America sure does, just check the record - find out how many countries America bombed AFTER the end of WWII.
During Perestroika many things have changed, we were friends. And now what?...

It seems like US has a death wish.....

Ok, who put the wings on backwards? Somebody fess up.

:D

Hello, SeanEdwards.

The foward swept wings give number of advantages. Thanks to these type of wings airplane's ability to go from ground to high altitude increases in 30%.
You can actually see that - http://youtube.com/watch?v=H1wXsygQTVA

Forward Swept Wing

The forward swept midwing gives the unusual and characteristic appearance of the Su-47.

The Dogs of War
Pink Floyd

Dogs of war and men of hate
With no cause, we don't discriminate
Discovery is to be disowned
Our currency is flesh and bone
Hell opened up and put on sale
Gather 'round and haggle
For hard cash, we will lie and deceive
Even our masters don't know the webs we weave

One world, it's a battleground
One world, and we will smash it down
One world ... One world

Invisible transfers, long distance calls,
Hollow laughter in marble halls
Steps have been taken, a silent uproar
Has unleashed the dogs of war
You can't stop what has begun
Signed, sealed, they deliver oblivion
We all have a dark side, to say the least
And dealing in death is the nature of the beast

One world, it's a battleground
One world, and we will smash it down
One world ... One world

The dogs of war don't negotiate
The dogs of war won't capitulate,
They will take and you will give,
And you must die so that they may live
You can knock at any door,
But wherever you go, you know they've been there before
Well winners can lose and things can get strained
But whatever you change, you know the dogs remain.

One world, it's a battleground
One world, and we will smash it down
One world ... One world

Can we stop this insanity now please?

Hahahaha.

Well, Dr. Paul doesn't want to threaten Russia, so that's not a problem. And he says he's willing to talk with other countries. "You're no more a threat to me than the Soviets were." (Ron Paul about Iran).

Germans came up with Forward-Swept wings as a way of getting better lift for higher speed aircraft. They tried it on a bomber design they had. Was really pretty good, we have experimented with it on fighter designs going for hyper-manueverablility.

For the Russians, they didn't LET anyone leave, they had no choice as the empire was crumbling. Note how mnay of their smaller ex-satellites cozied up to NATO. Russia, under Mad Vlad, is NO friend of its neighbors, and the Georgians and Ukranians are getting pretty nervous with the sabre rattling and Mad Vlad's ennui over the fall of the Sviet Union.

Until Putin is gone, it is going to be tense over there. The only good thing is that the 'alliance' between Iran and Putin is not very tight. When Putin when to Iran, one of the more embarassing moments was when Ahmahdinijad's mullahs tried to convert Putin to Islam. Made for an uncomfortable moment. Putin only entertain's Iran as long as it will annoy and keep the focus from HIS shenanigans.
