Rupert Murdoch requesting Twitter debate about Ron Paul

It was Cato that had Murdoch on its board of directors.

They then went on to support Fred Thompson in 2008, completely ignoring Ron Paul.

I think he just wants to see how big the movement is. Prolly having a huge Depends moment as we Tweet. Mostly positive coming back to him per his request to "debate."

If he truly believed in sticking to the Constitution, his news outfit wouldnt have consistently done everything in its power over the years to prop up and propagandize the policies that have come out of pnac and the patriot act.
People watched their shows ... That's their business ... Getting people to watch.

Would you prefer they do the same as CNN/MSNBC, or take a different approach to developing a viewership ?

Hook him up with the debate question video where RP speaks of going before Congress, letting them decide if war is required, and if so ... Fighting to win, and then coming home ... No nation building.

The fact is Ron Paul doesn't have enough fans, not enough eyeballs, to warrant good consistent coverage. Unfortunately we will get enough good coverage for the viewers of these stations to actually think that their stations aren't totally off the deep end. Nothing more, nothing less, until we get enough people to truly move the ratings needle.

This is patently false.

I have been watching the media's coverage of the Presidential candidates for years. I began paying very particular attention in 2007 when the debates began and Ron Paul schooled Giuliani on the 9/11 Commission Report. From that moment on, the media has INTENTIONALLY made an active attempt to negate Ron Paul and his followers at nearly every turn (and I have documented a small fraction of it). When Ron wasn't simply left out of the candidate listing, he was only ever mentioned as a crazy-old-man without a chance in hell, who had followers who were nutjobs and terrorists (which continues to this day, 5 years later).

The ONLY reason that Ron Paul does not have a larger supporting base is because of the direct manipulation by the media. End of discussion.

Edit: Re-reading your post I have to apologize. Yes, he doesn't have enough eyeballs, but that is because of the manipulation by the media. Which in turn makes it impossible to get more eyeballs.

He's probably just looking for more ammo for the smear campaign.

People who sit around drinking expensive alcohol all day long don't have time to come up with anything that makes any sense.

I suggest people here just take him at his word and politely engage in the discussion. He says he's reading a book on Ron Paul. If true, that's great. Just politely engage in discussion. What do you have to lose?

He's fishing to identify the most popular pro-liberty ideas to attack through his media spin machine. Do not give him free research.

i dont think murdoch likes ron and his ideas... but admires his courage, honesty and consistency in fighting against the establishment and elites such as himself.

I doubt he's really looking for a debate on twitter. Murdoch (or whoever is tweeting for him) is probably just measuring the response that he gets or something.
