Rubio gives up on Senate: ‘He hates it’

By David A. Fahrenthold - October 25

Marco Rubio is a U.S. senator. And he just can’t stand it anymore.

“I don’t know that ‘hate’ is the right word,” Rubio said in an interview. “I’m frustrated.”

This year, as Rubio runs for president, he has cast the Senate — the very place that cemented him as a national politician — as a place he’s given up on, after less than one term. It’s too slow. Too rule-bound. So Rubio, 44, has decided not to run for his seat again. It’s the White House or bust.

“That’s why I’m missing votes. Because I am leaving the Senate. I am not running for reelection,” Rubio said in the last Republican debate, after Donald Trump had mocked him for his unusual number of absences during Senate votes.

Those darn rules like the Constitution get in his way. He'd rather be Emperor, like Obama.

So according to his logic, his constituents that he represents as a senator can piss off sine he doesnt like the rules in congress and it is the White House or bust?

What a tool. Is it too late in the game for the Florida voters to push for a recall of Senator Rubio since he isnt doing his senatorial job?

Could you image that in the private sector?

That's why I'm not washing bottles, I'm waiting to be chief chef.

So that's what he means by still doing "constituent service" . . .

he should resign. Florida has a Republican governor, so no change in balance of power

Can FL voters recall him? If he's publicly saying that even though he's running for President that he's not going to even attempt to fulfill his Senate duties then FL voters should do something about that.

The silliest part of Rubio's statement is it came out during the very weekend where Jeb was reportedly considering dropping out of the race. Most of his votes would have migrated over to Rubio, but the fool dropped his gaffe at the exact wrong moment, as it may have contributed to Jeb deciding to stay in. So the "White House or bust" guy may have busted his best chance.

No, federal officials cannot be recalled.

should push the idea that Rubio should resign his senate seat immediately, if he's not running for reelection and he's missing votes then what is the point? Rick Scott is the governor so it's not like a Dem would take the seat.

yep, he would make a great president wouldn't he....Marco 'i give up' Rubio....not someone i could trust in a foxhole.

Honestly here, if I was in the Senate I would prob hate it too because today it's just a bunch of bullshit where criminals are protecting criminals, pissing and raping us, and there is nothing the handful of good people in the entire Congress can do about.

But not sure in what context Rubio said his comments. I had high hopes for him back in 2010 - young, energetic, good looking and articulate. Yes, looks matter in a Presdential race between the final 2 candidates.
