RSVP for Ames Straw Poll on RonPaul2008.com

There is now a link on the home page at www.RonPaul2008.com for people to RSVP to the Ames Straw Poll on August 11. It's vital that the campaign have some idea how many people are planning on coming to Ames, whether you're from Iowa or from out of state.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. If you thought the Des Moines Rally was fun with 1,000 of us and 500 next door, just wait until Ames when 40,000 gather to support their favorite candidates in front of 600 journalists from around the nation.

A good showing in Ames is vital to the health of the campaign. Please plan to attend. If you can, come for the August 5 debate in Des Moines and plan to spend all week in Iowa spreading the word.

Is anyone on these forums planning to attend? I don't think you have to pay the $35 unless you want to vote - but I'll have to verify that. You have to be from Iowa to vote, of course.

I think the 35 bucks allows you two things #1 a vote (must have iowa license, iowa student id, or military id) and #2 also i believe (not positive) you need it to enter the hilton maybe not since they didn't mention it on the rsvp page, but the only reason to be inside is to listen to the candidates speak and other than paul I could really care less what the others have to say. groups such as fairtax (i know they are planning a big event for this) might have free tickets up there but i really have no idea. Yes everyone is welcome to come the bigger the group the better, the more people up there the more chance we have of possibly swaying people's votes that are on the fence coming to the event, most of the action happens outside and that costs you nothing.

Another question do military id's have your home state listed on them? that was listed as one form of identification that could be used.

Unfortunately, I'm on the east coast and I can't fly down to the poll that day. I will be making an additional $100 donation this Friday though. We need to alert all the Iowan meetup groups.

ALSO, can you PLEASE PLEASE have the owner of the myspace site for Ron Paul Post a BULLETIN TO ALL ITS MEMBERS about this. I swear, I have to receive ONE Ron Paul bulletin.. and I don't mean them just posting a blog on their own account, but actually sending out a bulletin to their 40K+ members...

Edited post, I thought there might have been a problem related to Ron Paul being censored as a phishing scam on MySpace bulletins as one YouTube video suggests, but it turns out that the thing causing the problem was an MSNBC link inside the Bulletin. Also it seems that it's no longer a problem. Guess the owner is just being not so active to the MySpace crowd.

About the poll, I looked into costs of flying out there from NJ, but it's just an inefficient use of money. I'd rather donate some of that money and visit any upcoming events in NH.
