RPF member SwordSmyth has died at 38

Sword was a humble man and would never take contributions in any form. As his partner at Timeless Authors I can relay that his family is exactly the same. Everyone has been offering, and they have declined all offers so far. I can share that they absolutely do appreciate the heart felt sentiments though...

On this forum, he was well spoken, well thought out, measured replies and responses.

Even when "arguing" with someone, didn't resort to name calling, just stuck to the issues.

Was he like that in person as well?

Did he have a casual or informal side to him?

Did he ever curse?

I apologize for all the questions, it's just that this news was really unexpected.

Best thing you can do is go over to https://timelessauthors.com and sign up (it's free and easy). We have a memorial thread there. It's a private forum, so can't share stuff over here but there is a lot of commentary from Swordsmyth's friends all over the Internet (not just RPF/TA) and I think you can get a very good picture of who he was in his personal life from that. There are also quite a number of threads started on TA by Swordsmyth according to his varied personal interests and showed his personal/quirky side. I didn't know him IRL but I can guess he had a great love of cats and animals in general. I strongly doubt he ever used curse-words, he seems to me to have been very "straight-laced".

Are either of yous able to nudge @ATruepatriot

I'm real curious about Sword, my questions above.

His passing hit a little harder than I thought it would.
It did with me as well.

But no, I'm not in a position to try and glean any further info, the family is still mourning and has asked for privacy, and I did not know any of them IRL.

Other than the initial postings telling us of his death, which I had permission to cross post, that is about all I'd feel comfortable relaying.

@ClaytonB is right I think. Sign up at Timeless Authors and you'll get any updates that come along.

We only spent time together on line. And by phone as partners working on our own domain. Stand up strict Mormon who lived according to all the morals that comes with that faith. Always respectful and honest and intelligent.

"Did he have a casual or informal side to him?"

Always business, Straight productivity with no BS wasted time or effort without results. Now and then I could get a smile out of him if it was intelligent and truly funny...

"Did he ever curse?"

No... In fact in our Free Speech forum he was gripping his morals through the whole experience. Very moral man who really did not like cursing but because of his true respect for the 1st amendment he tolerated it... Funny thing is, it self regulates it's self pretty well anyhow... :)

Sorry I do not visit here much. Real Life and the domain keep me pretty busy... AF can give me heads up if you ever need more and I will drop back in...

Yes... We are still trying to get over it too...
