"RP, will you support the GOP nominee?", RP "Will the GOP support me if I'm nominated?"

When Ron is asked, "Ron Paul, will you support the GOP Nominee? Or will you run 3rd party?" Ron Paul needs to say, "Will the GOP support ME if I become the Nominee?" and he should put some focus on that, it would be an explosive spin. Because obviously the GOP establishment isn't taking him seriously now in 2012 nor in 2008.

What do you think? I already sent a contact us form to the Campaign. Maybe if you agree a couple more can be sent ;)

Nice post! "Will the GOP support ME if I become the Nominee?" Excellent question.

I'm a big fan of emailing rebuttals to the other candidates and the media, especially Fox News and Rush Limbaugh (both of whom I used to like).

I like it mostly for what it says to the viewer. Hopefully, he will anticipate the interviewer's rebuttal as well who will be hell bent on pushing him.

I've been wanting him to come back with this for a long time. RP is so polite he doesn't want to seem rude, but this is an excellent "throw the question back at them" response, and he can do it with a smile and come off seeming light hearted and charming.

Paul also has the option of explaining (in different words) how the party shunned him, never took him seriously, so what favors does he ow the party to support the nominee and not consider leaving the party? He could use that in defense of his '08 decision to not support McCain. He could even fire back saying that,

"you're not taking 20% of the party seriously because that is how much support I get. Telling me I don't matter is telling the fiercest-hardworking 20% grassroots republicans they don't matter. Republicans are only hurting themselves. I bring more young people, active military, and broad demographics to the party than any other candidate and I am dismissed as if my ideas don't matter. The establishment is simply shooting themselves in the foot."

Just throwing out ideas.....

I think a better question is: Will the GOP support me? When I made my bid to return to Congress in 1994, Newt Gingrich and the national party backed my primary opponent, Greg Laughlin, a Democrat who had switched parties. In virtually every election year since then the national party has financed a primary opponent in an attempt to unseat me because of my principled stand on issues, including backing a disgraced former staffer that I had fired.

This would be awesome.

Interesting. I knew about Gingrich and the Laughlin story (Newt even got HW Bush to help Laughlin win). Didn't know about who he fired though. I also recall reading some stuff by Jim Condit who has been fighting voter fraud for ever 30 years now, and also is running a campaign this year to help stop it in IA. He had mentioned that Ron's aides were contacted by some investigator (i think through Jim) to get a recount done in 08 (i think either in NH or SC) and those aides never did a damn thing about it or looked into it.

What i am getting at, is that it is obvious that Ron has had vipers on the inside during his whole political life, and i sure hope that this time, he pays close attention to who is working for him in the campaign staff. Sometimes your enemies are right under your nose.

Eric Donderooooo: http://www.libertarianrepublican.net/

Who said last cycle that Giuliani was the most libertarian candidate. HA! Anyway, the establishment GOP has been trying to wipe out Dr. No for virtually his entire career. Absolutely laughable that they now want his assurance that he'll back their warmonger candidate. What does he owe them? Nothing! Especially since he's not running for his seat again.

Love it!

Further, after Iowa - when this issue may arise again in a debate or interview - he can bring up Iowa as strong evidence that the establishment has not supported him. Which pundit still has the credibility to even ask the 3rd party/endorsement question (again)?

I agree, and he needs to press the issue of how he's being treated by the media and some politicians, too. Ignore the results if Ron Paul wins Iowa? Focus on the guy who comes in second? Seriously?

I don't know, when the media attacks Ron Paul you definitely get the sense watching him that he is still full of piss & vinegar. Great response to the question..
