RP says June 21st!!!

I am scheduled to speak at the march in DC on April 15th.
Is anyone going to that march? its being put together by the granny warriors and has many big name speakers. (i'm not including myself as a big name speaker)

I'm sick of this attitude... if the people who sat around and said this all the time would get off their @$$ and quit pouting all the time something WILL happen. But first, you have to get mad... you have to get up and go to the window... open it up... stick your head out and yell... I'M AS MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GUNNA TAKE IT ANY MORE!!

Oh I forgot... I WILL BE IN DC 6/21/08!!!!

Speaking as an active meetup organizer, precinct captain, etc., I have to break the bad news that getting mad or stopping the pouting won't pay for 1,000 porta pottys, or secure the permits for a June DC rally that should have been applied for months ago, in order to get them on time.

The truth is, the HQ that is sitting on $6 million dollars of monies raised for a presidential campaign has backed away from spending any of it on this event. The grassroots might be able to pull off a modestly okay turnout, but most REALISTIC chances of producing the 500,000+ mass numbers just went away when the best funded entity declined to organize it.

My understanding is the regulations require at least 1 portable toilet for every 500 people projected to show up. Procedures in DC usually require a group to apply for the permit up to 12 months in advance (to ensure they get the date asked for). These two factors alone make it logistically unlikely an effective DC rally can get successfully organized by late June. The grassroots would be better served by supporting the already organized April 15 DC event, and skipping over the June DC problems by instead organizing a Labor Day event at the GOP convention (As Devvy Kidd suggested).

I am going to try to make the June 21 rally. April is out of the question. I have to maintain heat and clear snow and such on my property.
By late June I will have all my seeds in the ground and planting done. I may be able to get away.
I hope to make it.
Hitch hiking and stealth camping. I haven't done that in a while.

The Reason for June 21st

Does anyone know the significance of the June 21 date? Why did Ron pick that date you think?

June 21st is the day that the Constitution went into effect. On June 21, 1788 New Hampshire became the ninth state to ratify the Constitution.

It doesn't matter if you are for freedom, liberty, gun owners rights, ending the war, transparency in government, pro-life, against the IRS. The Constitution unites us all. June 21st is the March for the Constitution!

Then possibly we should think about doing this next spring. This is a revolution, isn't it? It is not all about Ron Paul. He said that himself.

The Supreme court decision on whether or not American citizens have the right to own guns will be announced in June.
Hope it is before the June 21st date.

Let us hope for our country's sake, that the SC sides with the people, and not the powerful elites. If they side with the elites, then the integrity of our entire governmental system will be in doubt.

We do not have an official date yet, people. There is no permit for june 21st. We are still waiting for the parks service to give us a date. June 21st is just Dr. Paul's preference, hey it's mine too, but we can't go around promoting this date unless and until the parks service gives it to us.

I'll post a thread on this.

I wonder if it would have more of an impact if we did it without a permit. I mean they are breaking the law by not following the constitution, so why should we follow the law by getting a silly permit?

I think we should get one, but it also disgusts me that we are required to.

Could you make this poster with the correct date of July 12th? :)
