The term "new world order" has been used to refer to a new period of history evidencing a dramatic change in world political thought and the balance of power. The first usages of the term surrounded Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points and call for a League of Nations following the devastation of World War I. The phrase was used sparingly at the end of the Second World War when describing the plans for the United Nations and Bretton Woods system, in part because of the negative association to the failed League of Nations the phrase would bring. In retrospect however, many commentators have applied the term retroactively to the order put in place by the WWII victors as a "new world order."

Interestingly, the NWO people have made sept 12 interdependence day in celebration of sept 11th. They're claiming its only 3 years old, but George Bush Sr started the term in one of his NWO speeches or comments before and after. I found that out looking at the speech I thought it was in so I could post it, which was the NWO speech. Possibly was in comments afterward and not online.

Now it is being claimed that it was officially founded by guy who wrote jihad book on I suppose the policing the world idea (which has been talked for decades by the new world order crowd including the ford foundation.

Michael Gorbachev sent a letter saying he couldn't make it but endorsing the Interdependence Day project. There were lots of people from the arts, including director Robert Wilson, and many of them joined in a performance at the Bastille Opera on Sept. 11.

yep, it seemed like a bit of slip to me too, it's just one of those "taboo" words.. no biggy though.. while there may or may not be an elusive group of men plotting to take over the world through global governance, i think when Dr. Paul refers to the "New World Order", he's talking about a difference of philosophical opinion. There are statist collectivists out there, and there are those of us who are for liberty.

FDR, for all his faults, and being a cronnie of it himself (or so I believe) made a statement to the effects of "I've seen the New World Order, and it is neither new, nor is it order".

It could have been a matter though like Wilson; handled his administration 'like-so', then realized that what was done actually helped the NWO's agenda.

Really. Thanks. I saw Endgame but don't recall that. The words "New World Order" strung together have a unique connotation, I think. Remember how RP was reluctant to use the term "revolution" for quite some time until it was all over everywhere and he had had a few chances to publicly state that it was "the continuation of our founding fathers' revolution." He was worried about being accused of advocating violence by Fox news types. Similarly, "NWO" carries the "conspiracy theory" stigma.
