RonPaul domain dispute to forgive then freetrade?

I think after the site owner used the rules against Ron, Ron now has leverage under those same rules, and I don't think he's likely to 'forgive' until it is resolved. However, I absolutely agree the way forward is for the parties to agree to a fair value for the site, and maybe let the site owner have an ad with a 'thank you for your support all these years' on Ron's new site for a while to introduce it to Ron's supporters.

BOTH parties gain from Ron's support being unified and enthusiastic. BOTH lose without an amicable resolution.

Forgive my rant

The rEVOLution should continue to remain apart of the legacy, and yes that requires forgiveness. It also requires understanding and empathy. It takes a strong person with character to admit their wrongs and to let others correct them, to be chastised and mocked by society for it. It takes nothing to lie, cheat, and steal for the sake of social acceptance or power.

I hope people truly understand that it's not the system, the toys, the threats, the politics, the economics, nor the technologies that are destroying this world. I hear the same claims from other side of the spectrum, the zeitgeist movement, about their intentions to fix the overarching system. That it is technology, economics, and lack of intelligent management of resources. Here, I hear about the free market and how better management of the monetary and political system will save everyone. No. It is the people. It is the individuals we call leaders and their character that is leading this world astray.

Many have become pawns to CEOs, politicians, international bankers, royalty that don't care about ethics, nor morality. That have become unconscious of their actions or worse are sociopathic/psychopathic and take pleasure in the harm they cause. They've lost or simply don't have the capacity to understand the value of empathy.

So yes, these little actions that resonate compassion and express empathy for others make a world of a difference. If the culture itself revolved around this there wouldn't be problems as loving families don't intentionally disown or kill each other. It really wouldn't matter what system was utilized whether it is a free market or a resource based economy as the members would play by the unwritten rules. And until leaders that make important decisions economically, politically, and socially possess this quality the world will not get any better.

TLDR: yes, finding win-win solutions and practicing forgiveness would be best

Let’s take a look at this situation. The owners of ronpaul.com for a long time have been cashing in on ad revenue because their site is the first result on a Google search of Ron Paul. In addition they have been collecting email addresses by asking for them while appearing like Ron Paul’s official site (possibly to sell them later as email lists are very valuable to political hacks).

They have been profiting by selling mass quantities of T-shirts, hoodies, mugs, bumper stickers etc. emblazoned with the good doctor’s name and likeness, while not compensating him in any way.

And now, when the man they have made all their money off of comes calling, they spit in his face by trying to sell him HIS OWN NAME for $850,000, quickly lowering it to $250,000 when they realize they may have gouged a bit too deep for their own good. And when Ron Paul initiates arbitration so that he does not get robbed, in the only way available to him and THE WAY THE SITE OWNERS AGREED TO WHEN THEY REGISTERED THE DOMAIN, these “supporters” start badmouthing him, claiming he called in the UN, claiming that he is against the free market because he expects people to honor their contracts, and trying to create a new smear that the media can use to fight the only man who is making a difference in the fight against tyranny.

Meanwhile, they greedily continue to peddle swag emblazoned with the image of the man they are calling a hypocrite and whose reputation they are trying to damage.

You are not supporters at all. Shame on you. You would just as soon help what you call “the enemy” if it meant more profits for you.
