Ron ties for fourth in Saint Anselm College straw poll

Who the Hell is Karger?

He is literally running on the sole platform of being the first openly gay candidate to run in the GOP for President. When people ask him about other issues besides gayness in interviews (tho I've only seen a couple) he says 'I'm still developing my position on that....'

Our biggest challenge will be breaking the Establishment/old media meme that he can't win. So we need to win straw polls everywhere, so they won't be able to explain it away forever. Disappointed Shem didn't get more backup from the liberty folks there!

Daily Paul is running an awful top story about the straw poll, they got the percentage wrong, though: http://dailypaul.com/160762/paul-sup...th-less-than-1

Wow, I had no idea he'd react like that!

No excuse.

24 votes = 7.5%, which is less than Ron Paul received in the 2008 NH primary.

WTH is Fred Karger?

Maybe I'm just making excuses, but it seems like kind of a dumb straw poll anyways if Karger could win it.

personal notes: Where were the free staters?

I saw 4 of us. The Gary Johnson guy and 3 of us Ron Paul activists.

Not concerned with national politics?

In my opinion, national politics is just slightly more important than being of no importance. I spent 6 hours at the NH State House (it was the day the budget was passed in the House) and than 1 hour at the vastly more important New Hampshire Liberty Alliance board meeting. I skipped out of the last 2 hours to vote for Ron Paul. I think the vast majority of FSPers that are politically active consider both state and local politics to be much more useful than national politics. Heck, if I though it was possible for me to change federal law, I may have never moved to NH. But I came to the conclusion that I couldn't set state policy in TN and had zero ability to set national policy from anywhere.

Where are all the campaign for liberty supporters?

Chris does an OK job with C4L in NH. He could do better, I may get involved in a more leadership role but I'm already pushing over 40 hours per week of unpaid activism sometimes now. It's just that, the NHLA actually understands how politics work in NH and has a massive list of accomplishments. National C4L training is a joke compared to what we do as far as NH is concerned. You have been through the training, right? Precinct training isn't useful for State Rep races in NH.

And with the Republican Liberty Caucus starting to become a major player in NH, the C4L gets squeezed. Perhaps when more FSPers move to NH, there will be enough hardcore political animals to completely staff the more than a dozen pro-liberty volunteer organizations in NH. My understanding is that one organize or something is currently staffed in MA, for example and the total list of accomplishments of MassLPA is throwing really great, inexpensive speachfests once a year (Boston Tea Party) and stopping one bad bill.

i emailed all new hampshire, new england, and massachusetts meetups. Where are all the people from the nh Facebook group?

You have access to the C4L NH email list? I did not get an email from you. I invited maybe 20 people to the FB event. Maybe 3 of them RSVPed yes and a few RSVPed maybe. 1 of them made it. Maybe it was the weather, I don't know. You are working hard. You even brought a couple people up with you. Good work man!

Is anyone taking the lead on the grassroots campaign in this state??

For Ron Paul? Not that I know of. Ron Paul hasn't announced yet and state and local politics are very important right now as the legislature is in session. Maybe you could take the lead like you seem to be doing?

Where was libertpac with a table? I read an article on politico today about the war chest ron is sitting on. They could have had five free minutes to show a video. any video. Hell they coulda shown the rising tide video from 2008.

That's a great point man. Maybe you can contact Chris in NH or Jeff in DC or someone else about that. Do you need help with contacts? You could make sure there is a table and video at the next event like this.

Who is running liberty PAC? please someone get me a contact.

I don't know but the person(s) is hiding the email from this page, http://www.libertypac.com/contact-us/ Chris or Jeff could likely tell you. Or you could try the # on the page.

I thought I had read somewhere Ron had bought a table for $1000, Michelle B had, too, and some others had bought 2 tables. Maybe this was more of a 'presence' and 'support' event rather than a must win, or maybe I have the events confused. And to a poster above, yes, I was continuing the April Fools joke, at the time....

You have your events confused. Tables at this event were likely very inexpensive.

Here is what a NH State Rep said about the NHLA yesterday:

You helped many of us get elected to the House. Many of us wear the NHLA lapel pin. Many more of us read the Gold Standard and I think it does influence a few votes. (I won't say it influences my vote, only because I'm already on the side of Liberty even before I check the Gold Standard.) When we are deluged with email from the opposition it is comforting to receive your emails in support.
